Isla de la Piedra ~ New Year’s Day

The first perfect day of the year here on the Isla.  So many locals and tourists about, great people watching.  We missed the Polar Bear dip as we were too far down the beach but heard that it was ‘coolish’!!

With temps only about 27C perhaps it was a wee bit cold but these kids were enjoying their day at the beach.

The restaurants were full, some of the boats in the bay came in for a bit of lunch.

We are happy to be of service!

...so much to see and do..

This guy carried his wares on his head.

The isla was alive with a variety of sounds, people and life!

The Union Bar/ Cantina just down the beach form us had a live brass band which kept everyone on their toes.

Everyone wanted to be a part of the action!

Hmm...maybe we should stop and check out the action!

Let's check out the music! If you look closely, in the parking lot, you can see that some even came by tractor!

No fishing today...

Time for us to head back home!

Time to relax, time to sit and watch the world pass by, time to reflect on 2011, time to think about all the promise that 2012 has in store.....time to savor that special glass of vino.

The first of the year...

May all your dreams and wishes for 2012 come true, be sure to live each day to the fullest!
