25th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Yes, it is true…..today we have been married 25 years! Rather amazing if I have to say so myself.
Who knew we would tie the knot? Who knew it would last this long?
We started to date during Expo 86 in Vancouver. Colin was the official photographer for both the British and the Canadian Pavilions. I like to tell the story that I only dated him to get to the front of all the lines to the various pavilions using his press pass. Actually I really kinda liked the guy. We married one year later.
What does one do for a 25th wedding anniversary celebration? What did you do??
We have been told over and over how very special today is, a landmark achieved!! What to do to celebrate?
We have been so very busy with the new house ( actually the perfect gift to us in itself in my opinion) that we haven't had any time to decide what to do. If we were not building the house, we would have booked a flight to New York City and spent a very romantic week there, theatre, music, etc. We could have done a cruise or gone to Hawaii as we did for our honeymoon but really NYC is our very very favorite in the world…..hmmmm…let's do that next year, okay sweetie??
So what will we to today? Well first off after five must do errands starting at 7AM we just might go to a Hallmark store and each find the perfect 25th anniversary card which we will chose and then meet in the middle of the store and read aloud to each other…sob a bit…give each other a smooch and promptly return the card to the rack where we will walk out the store arm in arm and head home to crack a bottle of champagne, and just enjoy the rest of the day together.

Happy Anniversary! Keep up the good work!
Congratulations you two! What a gorgeous dress Contessa! Thanks for the photos. We so enjoy reading about the progress of your new home and thanks for the salmon barbecue recipe. We haven’t found the cedar planks yet, but you will be the first to know if we succeeded to produce a good meal.
Loved the photo of the little black mink. We used to see it once in a while at our site 239 heading towards your place. Never did see two together. So relieved you spotted the beaver – it could have died in the flooding waters. I do miss the assortment of wild life found at the water’s edge at Holiday Park.
Our cruise to The Baltic was wonderful but we found Europe and the cruise line terribly expensive. We made sure we were back on board for meals. Great seeing the family in England.
Hilde is doing well, will write more in an e-mail later. Love to you both on this special day! Margot & Ken

Sincere Congratulations to you both! 25 years – where did the time go? Well, you two are really 2 peas in a pod. I’m really happy for you. By the way, great photographer on your wedding day!
I still think you ought to go to New York perhaps in the fall when its more comfortable! Sometime I’d like to hear about the magic you have found there. My first and only 4 day visit left me wanting more.
I’d like to be here for your 5oth anniversary. All the best!

Congratulations!!! 25 years!! and what great pictures, we all love the glasses and we can all relate to those years.
How Don and I enjoy reading your blog, it is like a newspaper, every morning we check in to see what you guys are up to!!! and most days it is pretty darn interesting.
Your house sounds and looks wonderful and so enjoy reading the progress on it.
Keep those blogs coming. Don and Barb
Oh man. Late to the party.
Happy Anniversary!
I like that idea of reading a card to each other in the store, and then putting them both back on the rack. Really speaks to the “el cheapo” in me. Not sure if my wife would go along.
We’ve only put in 23, but have been under the same roof for 33. Lived in sin! *gah* Actually, it was more like, we couldn’t afford a wedding, so it took a few years.
We met in ’78. Seems hardly possible.
The years do fly by when you’re having fun, don’t they?
Enjoy your day.
Happy Anniversary. Love your Hallmark idea! Maybe you should have snuck in a photo of the two of you holding the cards for the “memory”.
Belated Anniversary Greetings.
Wishing you another happy 25!
Hugs,
Bob & Marjorie
Better late than than none…We want to add our wishes to your celebration.
It is said that the first 20 years are difficult after that you get used to it…
Happy Anniversary.
You both look great together today as at your wedding.
Happy Belated Anniversary!
