Kelowna to Edmonton..Day 1!!
Almost too exhausted to post. I don’t recommend traveling with the zoo. Don’t know that the bird will travel again with us. Anyone want her, even part time? Drives me and Carmeh nuts. Poor Caeli, she fell off the golf cart the other day and hurt her leg and is not bouncing back, so today I started her on Prednisone. Umm Dr. Susan did I give her too much…5mg…..will decrease to 2.5 mg tonite and tomorrow and then start to cut back??!!!
So we started the engine at 11:15AM, only to have major airbag problems. Dumped the air and reinflated then had an airhose problem. Finally driving and Colin says…grande problema with the engine!!! We stopped just 2 miles from home where I drove while Colin ran alongside trying to figure it out. In the end ‘no se’. We decided to just go for it and if we break down we will deal with it. So the strange noise in the engine is now traveling with us. Finally we are truly on the road at noon, an hour late! Here is the bird still in her cage, getting use to being on the road.
So we drove and drove and got to Valemont at 6:15PM where we filled with diesel and finally got settled into our site by 7:00PM. By then we had endured a very loud thunder/lightening storm, and tons of rain. Quite the day, we started out at 30C with the A/C on and ended with the heater running. Along the way Colin saw a bear and we both saw the second one at the same time. Now that was very exciting. Not so great was my getting totally soaked checking in at Irvins’s Rv Park. There goes the hair do for Dad’s big day! Sigh!!!!!! Oh here is the normal travel scenario..Caeli on Colin’s lap, the bird free and Carmeh worried about Cheikka who she thinks is her baby.
It is now 9:00PM and the kids have been fed but not us….well who needs food when you have a full glass of vino blanco? Colin now wants the puter cuz he has to “work”. He has been going from 7AM till 1Am for almost 12 days now and will continue to do the same in Edmonton. Bedtime for me!
