Sea horse farm visit!
Here on Stone Island, hidden in the twisted roads of the Colonia is a real working sea horse farm. It is very high tech operation but built in a typical low tech Mexican fashion.
Eliezer Zuniga started this project as part of his thesis for a degree in marine biology. It has developed over the past ten years. He claims that his greatest challenge was creating a food source for the sea horses. They consume vast amounts of brine shrimp and it has taken 8 years to get the production ratio just right.
Zoe Jussel who lives in Mazatlan wrote an article in October of 2010 for M! Magazine. Rather than repeat all the facts about the sea horse farm I suggest you read this informative article and enjoy our photos.
It was a great tour, most informative. I suggest you read the article highlighted above to get the full understanding of the sea horse farm.

I would like to visit with my grand children either Thursday or Friday. Can you please call me at
913 – 47-05 and let me know if this can be arranged?
Gracias
Mary
Sorry I stay in the RV park on Stone Island. I have done the sea horse farm tour several years ago but I have no idea if they are still going on. Wish I could help.
