Home a week…

..and we have accomplished tons.  The year end for Colin Jewall Photo Studios Inc. was the big priority, it is done, balanced and now in Vancouver awaiting the wisdom of our accounting guru.

Hours of mental strain after five months of relaxation.

Adios...

We celebrated with a takeout Greek dinner and of course vino.

Colin has been working in the RV, the inside has been unloaded and cleaned,  I just need to go in and remake the bed and put the clean stuff away.  We haven’t tackled the RV basement yet but hope to tomorrow as long it does not snow or rain.  Colin did get my Z3 and the golf cart out of storage so we have lots of wheels.  I still haven’t driven anything yet!!  By the end of today we should have the house put together and the final laundry done, about 15 loads if you count the dog blankets, rags, etc.  The most important was the issuing of a few invoices for jobs that were done while we were in Mexico by our assistant Jason.  Colin has seen a few clients and the work is lining up.  It will be a busy summer.  It has been a very busy last seven days.

Last night we attended a Guitar Festival featuring music from Spain dating from 1517 to 1749.  It was an interesting concert held at the Kelowna Art Gallery.  One of the performers, Clive Titmuss is also a luthier and had made the 5 early music instruments that were played.

Beautiful craftsmanship and a resulting resonating sound.

Alan Rinehart and Clive Titmuss

After the performance...it took a while to get Colin to leave.

Someone was wearing these Sketchers at the concert, cute, eh!

  1. Wow getting all settled in and back to business, looks like it is all coming together, counting the days until the southern migration in the fall.

My mother-in-law always said “no rest for the wicked!” Still busy here, too, but getting there. Macy’s One Day Sale about did me in, but I have tomorrow off, so church and rest is about all I’ll get done.

My middle son is a luthier-he makes mandolins, guitars, and electric guitars. He lives in Austin, TX. Love the view from your office-what a way to get things done with all that light and green.

Marty, how interesting about your son…I’m sure one day Colin will want to contact him about his Khono guitar, it has a crack on the back….he doesn’t really want to send it to Japan for repair. Does your son do repairs?
