Dorado

Dorado also known as mahi-mahi is one of our favorite fishes.  To eat that is!  We first discovered mahi-mahi burgers in Maui on our honeymoon way back then. It was a bonus that when we started RVing to Mexico we could get fresh dorado daily.

A fresh fish market near the embarcadero to the Isla.

You get to choose how thick you would like it cut and exactly what size of fillet you prefer.

In Mexico we pan fry it in wine with garlic and onions. Melt in your mouth....

Thanks to Costco we are now able to get dorado here in Canada.

Still pan fried with only a spray of Pam. Surprisingly still delicious, a nice mixtures of spices have been added to the fish. We look forward to trying this on the BBQ when the weather improves.

  1. Looks absolutely delicious! What kind of wine do you use to pan fry? I would like to try something a little different then pescado dorado.

Trinidad, I just any wine that is open, which is white. We try to stay away from using butter or oil to cook in. The wine makes the fish melt in your mouth.

  2. Too yummy, making me hungry!!

  3. Nice! Can’t wait to return to Mexico. Something tells me we’re going to get back there earlier than normal this year!
