Palapa Crisis

This is how the palapa has looked for a few years. We think that with our RV moved onto the site, it will be the perfect fit. Lots of shade and space to visit or have guitar concerts or a movie night under the stars or lots and lots of other ideas!

However the palapa is gone!!!  While moving their RV out the current site renters (for the past 5 years) somehow managed to dislodge the palapa and it is no longer there.

When I first got word I was devastated.  The only reason we had changed RV sites at Tres Amigos for this coming winter and forever more, was so we could have the palapa!  Not many others wanted the palapa but it was our deal breaker.  So we gave up our lovely site, transplanted some flowers, and began dreaming.  We bought extra tables & chairs, ordered a wind/dust screen to run the length of the fence, and while in Quartzite on the way home found the perfect carpeting.  Now what.  Well reconstruction is under negotiation but with our pesos!!  What to do?

Meanwhile we have received word that our specially selected coco palm has finally been planted.  Just as the rainy season starts, which will give it the much needed water to make it grow big & tall.

Our tree has been planted..looks great...hmm, I think we need a palapa.

Bummer! You were so excited when you showed the space and palapa to us. Hopefully you can get something built.

We loved that palapa because of the shade and for how it reduced the dust of the horses going down the sand road right alongside the site. We will have to build another but its from pesos yet to be found. However we will suck it up as know that it is something we need plus we plan on heading back to Mexico for many years to come.

  3. Too bad about the palapa, but you do have a nice corner lot now, facing the ocean, guess you need to save up some pesos and have another built, good luck.

  5. It sucks about the palapa, but at least you will have your coco palm. I am sure it won’t take long to get another palapa in place for your return.
