The big meet!!
Over the past year we have become friends with bloggers Kevin & Ruth. We share a love of RV travel and fortunately for this young couple they are full timers and free to roam and experience all that life has to offer. Needless to say we also share a love for all things Mexican. One day we were destined to meet and that special day was yesterday. Kevin & Ruth left their RV in Tepic and took a bus here to visit another friend, Lee and us!
We went over to Mazatlan for the big meet. I think the original plan was for lunch at the Plazuela Machado but we ended up in a pulmonia heading back the Isla.
After a quick stop at the fish market for fresh dorado we boarded the panga. Life jackets are required this year.
Over appies, wine, cerveza and music we got to know each other.
I just had to throw this shot in. There will soon be a book of photos published about Ruth & her style of 'hats'!
We walked and talked and talked and talked. We never ran out of things to discuss or debate. What we ran out of was time.
Time to turn around and head back to the palapa for even more wine & cervezas and snacks.
Rather then waste a second we decided to eat dinner at home, some of the fresh dorado we had picked up in the morning. Ruth put together a great salad with ingredients we found in my fridge. BBQ fish, spuds and a bottle of Chardonnay left us pleasantly satisfied. I like this photo because Colin is it even thought he took the shot.
After a marvellous eight hours together it was time to say adios to our friends. Lots of hugs, perhaps a few tears and off they went onto their next adventure. Remember, mi casa es su casa!

Marty…..I agree, the internet is amazing. Happy to be living in this day and age for sure.
Kevin & Ruth….glad you got back to Sherman and all was well. We so enjoyed your visit, it was hard to let you leave.

Elaine…..ever since I read on your blog about your meeting them I wanted to also. We spoke of Whiskey often while they were here. Now if only the 6 of us could get together, what a time that would be. I took you advice and rested!!
We had a blast yesterday with you guys! Made it back to Tepic with no problems today, and are heading for the coast tomorrow…thanks again for the hospitality!

Looks like and awesome time, great that you got to meet Kevin and Ruth, we came real close a few times but did not quite make it. Sure is nice to meet fellow bloggers.
whoohoo you finally got together…isn’t it awesome…we had Kevin and Ruth here for a visit this summer and thoroughly enjoyed their company..whiskey was also a darling..love love the pics and love the pic colin took where he shows in the window 🙂 pretty cool…rest my friend…you seem to never stop!!
