Yesterday afternoon I started to think about what to post about today. Have you ever heard the expression thoughts are things!
Within a few moments I noticed Caeli limping.
One of her back paws was heavy with pieces of gravel and she could not walk too well. She had just come up from the beach, she tends to take herself for mini walks just out in front of our place. After removing the gravel I saw she had managed to step into a huge wad of blue bubblegum. I mean, an entire beach of sand and she steps into gum!!
Good old Google suggested cleaning gum with peanut butter, well I didn't want to do that as good peanut butter is impossible to get here. Besides Colin was not sharing his stash. So I used canola oil, over and over and over. Bit by bit I got pieces of the gum out.
Carmeh had to get in on the action and find out what was going on. She seems to love the smell & taste of the oil and was all over the place trying to get a lick.
Caeli just laid still, on her back, for the entire procedure but Carmeh was everywhere, making it difficult to get the paw cleaned.
She was licking Caeli's foot, my hand, the oil soaked cloth, it was so funny.
Once all the gum was gone I let Carmeh clean off Caeli's paw!!
So remember folks, your thoughts can be quite powerful.
On a sad note we said adios to one of our RVing couples today. He was diagnosed with cancer a few days ago and they have chosen to pack up and drive back to Canada for treatment. We wish him well and many strong positive thoughts.

You had me rolling on the floor with Carmeh helping make Caleli’s paw all better. They are such big helps and just have to have their nose in everything. Glad you were able to get all the gum off. So sorry to hear about your friend. Best wishes to them.
Sandie….and such a long nose she has!!
Marty…..I had forgotten that, our fist doxie did that, not these so much.
Susie…..would to see that photo.
George…you actually know them, Ken & Pat.
Kevin….double trouble, but really on the beach, GRRR. Carmeh would have been fighting us as opposed to laid back Caeli.
Elaine….Carmeh is 99% back to normal but I still watch her like a hawk and am so careful what goes into her tummy.
Many years ago, when I was a teen, we had a little Doxie. We would shave our legs and put hand lotion on. Then Snoopy would follow us all over the house trying to get a lick! They love that oily stuff, and they’re not afraid to go after it. My Westies aren’t a bit interested in that stuff-a difference in breeds.
Silly girl,s they are so nosey, surprized she didn’t get it stuck on her nose.. Took a picture of our cat (Toga) washing Sara,s face today, how cute our little furry kid,s…
Glad you got the gum prblem solved and all is well there, sorry to hear about you rv friends. The lord willing all will be fine!
I hate bubble gum! The stuff should never have been invented, it seems to get stuck on everything and is so hard to get off. You are so lucky that Caeli is so good at letting you clean up her paws. It always took both Kevin and I to work on Whiskey’s paws, she didn’t like them being touched much.
Glad you got it all out.
Kevin and Ruth
