A few nights ago, Sunday the 18th, Colin & I hosted a party for all the RVers plus other friends on the Isla. The evening was a huge success, almost 6 hours of fun, food and music. We called it our Palapa Roof Raising party, I think we shall make it an annual event.
Most brought some food to share....so many delicious choices.
I never did a head count but I do know that about 20 people never arrived for a variety of reasons. We may have had to really raise the roof to fit them all in.
The light fixture in the upper right corner comes from Acapulco but the the green light we have for it is too bright so Colin took an empty Tecate beer can and drilled it full of holes, then placed it over the green bulb. So now we have a red & green xmas light. We recyle it all! Plus according to our Fire Chief Gary, it is safe!
At one point we had 4 guitars playing, that is Colin on the left in the orange shirt.
We all had a great evening. Hey, that's me over on the right, bare legs in front of the fire! Who took this picture? Colin???

Looks like y’all had a great time, any excuse for a party is good.
George, it was a good time and the bugs stayed away.
Susie, we will have another evening just for you! Stay healthy.
Longdog2, I’m sure by now you have read that the surgery date has changed again. it is really difficult to plan anything. Tiring for me.
Elaine….we love our xmas lights and set up. Hope to see you here one year.
Marty…you would have had a good time.
Margot….things keep changing and it is so hard to know what to do. Thanks for all your comments. We and the girls are all doing well, if Mom has her surgery today I won’t be going. At one point on Dec 30th I had a 12 hour layover in Phoenix and had hoped to come see Hilde!!!
Sorry I didn/t make it,I was still sick and it was a windy cool evening, but Roger said it was a great get together and the Palapa is huge.. Will come over soon.
Looks like I’m catching up too. Got a new battery for my computer so just got it installed and back online. So sorry to hear that your Mom’s surgery was delayed until the 28th. That is a long time to wait. Have you decided to stay in Mexico or go ahead and fly out to get there for the 28th? Anyway, I will be thinking about you and your family either way.
Your party sounds wonderful. Would have loved to have been there. It looked like everyone was having a great time and the palapa is wonderful.
looks like a great time was had by all..your setup is lovely my dear…
Looks like it was a hoot!
Dear dear Contessa – so sorry to hear about your mother. Are you still flying to Edmonton? Your plans seem to change. Wonderful photos of sunsets and parties. Good seeing Margaret Van Leest in your blog. We saw them at the American Thanksgiving at RCB in Indio. They sure get around! How is Carmeh doing now? I guess Colin will hold the fort if you do go to your mother’s bedside. We will keep our fingers crossed for her recovery. Hilde doing well and improving – i.e., her separation anxiety, etc. We love her little antics and all is well here. Will write soon. Love Margot & Ken
