Twas a perfect Valentine’s Day

We had so much fun yesterday.  The day should have just kept going and going.   I did not get a box of chocolates but…..

...I might have loved to get this box of weiner pups.

After our long long beach walk I did get a special gift!

A gift from the ocean and from mi amore! Lucky me....

After a 90 minute massage we just hung around and enjoyed our afternoon together.

....that was followed by a spectacular sunset on this special day.

We then had a choice to make.  Stone Island now has two restaurants open in the evening and we had to make a choice  of where to have dinner.  Most of the RVers chose to go to the Maria Coral Hotel but being the contrary couple that we are, we went to Tio Juan’s Restaurant at the other end of the beach.  The Maria Coral was offering a choice of 2 entrees with a glass of vino for 240 pesos while Tio Juan was offering a meal plus unlimited pina coladas, margaritas and cervezas for 200 pesos as well as live music.  Only 3 couples from the RV park went there and all the rest were locals.  It was a blast.

Meet Hugo! He lives in Mazatlan with a wife and daughter and works on the Isla. He lived in Canada ( Victoria ) for many years and had a Quebecois girlfriend whom I think he still loves. Hugo has the perfect French accent and speaks better French than most people I know, me included. In fact he is fluent in 8 languages, and was able to tell us " I love you" in Russian, Italian, German, Dutch, Arabic, French, English, and of course Spanish. He is currently studying Japanese in the hopes of working as an interpreter at a yet to be built Nissan plant in Aguacaliente. He spent the evening going from table to table making sure that everyone was happy. We had more food than we could eat and of course non stop drinks. Bottles of good wine were also available for 100 pesos. Our coconut shrimp were to die for but I just couldn't eat it all.

What to do but dance it all off...

There is no way I cold keep up with these girls in those shoes...

The band was great, they played what I call hug & holds and rumbas for the the romantics in the crowd, some salsa, samba, mambo and merengue and we even got to dance a chacha.

Hugo was a delight to dance with but...

...I reserved most of my dances for my sweetie. Notice my practical dancing shoes. We pulled ourselves away about 10:45PM...although I could have danced all night!!! We checked out the Maria Coral Hotel on the way home and found it pitch dark. That party must have ended very very early. Last I heard the party we were at was still going strong at 1 AM!!

...and so ended a perfect Valentine's Day on Isla de la Piedra.

WOW....this 5 X 7 glossy photo, was just delivered to our door, compliments of the Tio Juan Restaurant! Life is good here in Mexico.

Sounds like so much fun! Too bad we weren’t there-SIL Irene can party with the best of them. And your hubby has excellent taste-beautiful jewelry.
