Home from Mexico…..

….only 46 sleeps and we are officially fulltime RVers!!  Hard to believe that in that short amount of time we have sold our home, started construction of a new one and moved into the RV.  It has been a stressful time with lots of lists.  Today the new owners take possession of our home.  It will be interesting because we see the house right out the front of the RV window, not sure how I will feel seeing someone else there.  We are likely to stay in the RV until we return from Mazatlan next April.

So today, June 1st, is the beginning of many new things.  A new routine, learning to run our business in the RV, starting to go for family walks again, read and relax and enjoy life.  There will also be the fun things of watching the house being built, picking kitchen hardware, lighting, paint colours, etc.  The big decisions like cabinets, flooring, windows and doors have been made.

A reader emailed me yesterday to suggest we plant a new tree in front of the cedar hedge we had to cut. This is for you Ken!

Yesterday started off on high hopes that we would have electricity restored. Not to be. Something went wrong installing the new inverter and it also was fried. Perhaps it was defective. Our sole source of electricity is through 2 extension cords running out of an RV window. Our solar panels are useless as they have no inverter/charger to run through. We are coping, just being very creative.

The girls are coping better now that we are in one place and no more boxes being moved out and no back and forth between the house and the RV. The test in the next few weeks will be for them to not go to the house but always here to the RV. Caeli just loves being a dirty girl!

We have great soil and with the use of proper fertilizer the tree grew overnight!!

I plan on posting our Mexico costs, fuel, mileage and all those exciting things soon.  Stay tuned.

It doesn’t look like there is room in your lot for both the motorhome and the new house.

Supervising is hot and dirty work – right girl? Hopefully now you can relax just a little bit and enjoy.

Let’s hope you get the inverter working before we actually get some Okanagan heat…although not much to worry about with this weather. Time for feet up, a good book and a glass of vino!!
