Dentist, lawyer and more…..
…better late than never. Really hard for me right now to post at a certain time of day. Who knows I might even post again tomorrow morning!!!
Our weather here is simply crappy…wet and cool, I would have to say cold even. I think we had 2 0r 3 days of sun and heat since we came back mid April. I can live without the sun but crave the heat. Living in the RV in this dampness is awful especially with little power. Seems like we have another week of this, another new inverter has been ordered but it is coming from the US. Last weeks inverter, the new one that fried, turned out to be a defect within the inverter itself. That is good news for us as it means we don’t have a problem with the RV itself.
Saw my lawyer today, nothing much, back again in two weeks and so on and so on!! On the way, after a quick breakfast stop we went to check out a lighting store and found some neat things that just might work in the new house. Some really different modern stuff for the kitchen.
We haven’t been wanting to leave them in the RV alone just yet as they are still unsettled after the move and they hate the cold so we bring them with us. They told us today that we could have brought them into the lighting store…next time maybe. Two more new house related stops them back home.
Then I was off to the dentist. First thing he asked, “are you upset or stressed about something?” Hmmmm, ya think so, just a bit!! He thinks I cracked my tooth because of stress, even my gums are all sensitive, like I have been grinding. The tooth can be saved but is fragile and needs a crown ( ka ching, ka ching ) ASAP!! So there goes $1079.00 this coming Thursday. What next I ask?
Thanks for all the cement comments and support. Colin is talking to several of Kelowna’s major developers that he works for and getting some opinions before our next step.
After all our running around yesterday we stopped at Papa Murphy’s Pizza, you know you’ve been there too many times when they recognize you and asked how the move went!!! I am making dinner tonight and tomorrow I promise! I just had a thought….do you think Papa Murphy might be related to Mr. Murphy…..well anything is possible………??????

That picture of the girls is absolutely darling. Sure wish the sun would come out and warm you up a little bit. Cold and wet is not my idea of a good time. Sometime you are going to be able to relax and enjoy yourselves.
Sandie….do you think so……I mean before we head to Mexico.
Pat…no ham!!! Thanks for making me laugh out loud yet again!
George….the tooth can’t even wait a week!! I have never been to a Tim Horton’s, never mind the girls. Lucky Omar!
Longdog…..you bet get with the program and look after those fur kids!!
Bob…..never ever would even consider doing it ourselves. So it sucks and we are stuck!! The wine helps with the stress.
I think the girls are saying…where’s the ham? Yes, the weather is awful. I could forgo the heat, just give me some sunshine! Gord’s comment re: the cement fiasco…”just say NO to crack” .
Good luck with the tooth repair, to bad you can’t wait until Mexico!
When Dennis take’s Omer thru the drive thru at Tim Horton’s they always give he a free Timbit!
My three dachsies perked right up at the picture of the girls at McDonald’s. They told me they feel they have severely deprived because they don’t get to go along when we are out running around. Alas, it is too warm here to leave them in the car.
Just saw the piss poor concrete job. And THAT, is why I pour and trowel out my own concrete. I like the kind that gets mixed right at the truck, rather than having to specify what class of “slump” I’d prefer. The weather is too iffy to be able to predict that kind of thing.
My tried and true rule of thumb has become “One man per yard”, up to about a five yard pour. Then you’re tripping over each other.
I have concrete around my house that I poured twenty years ago with nary a crack. I’m not so sure I’d be all that willing to pour that much again any time soon, at least not without a good supply of pain meds.
The unfortunate reality with a lot of paving and concrete companies is that, the labour pool is kinda “shallow”?
Sucks, but that’s the reality. Best to learn how to do it yourself, except that at a certain point in life, it’s just too hard on our old bodies.
Don’t let it stress you out.
