Tempting fate….

…I could say that yesterday, July 1st was a perfect day….but that would be tempting fate.  It was in truth a glorious day….a gift from God!  We did not get the rain nor thundershowers forecast but heat and sun and the sheer beauty of nature.  For me…I honestly have to say that it was the very very best day we have had since returning home from Mexico.

We started with a long walk….saw the floats gathering for the parade…went home, got the golf cart and drove up to the paradre route and sat in comfort to watch the event ….

We even had a Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman in the parade!

Lots of imagination went into the decorating. Kelowna itself had many major events and fireworks but we were content to stay close to home.

We did not attend any of the other events but could hear the music.  We did get a few chores done and then just sopped up the sun.

What could be better than a BBQ dinner, veggie smokies, potato, onion & zucchini! I only had to add a caesar salad to complete the meal. Yummy and easy.

….and them it happened, something even more glorious.  Full moon is tomorrow but last night we got to watch the moon rise over some clouds colored by the setting sun.

Really...does it get any better!!! I went to bed a very happy lady! What a great Canada Day! It doesn't take much to please me...just some sun, heat, and wine!

George…it was the most relaxed I have been since leaving Mexico.

Susie…maybe next year….just too busy this year to deal with dogs in a parade.

Pat…are you volunteering to make the costumes? I like the idea.

It really was a perfect Okanagan weather day! I was also hoping to see the ‘girls’ in costume…perhaps disguised as Isla crabs.
