An arbor and snakes!!

Good morning everyone!  The weather has returned.  That means that Colin is back to working 12 hour days or longer ~ finally!!  Now that can be taken two ways, one that he needs to get caught up on all the weather dependent jobs or that the RV is growing smaller by day!!

WELCOME BACK MR. SUN !

We always knew we wanted an arbor with a gate for the new house.  Was it going to be a white vinyl prefab thing or custom made?

We drew up a plan and hired Jim who lives here as well as works here but is a crafstman in his spare time.

The problem with those who create is that they always put their own stamp on things. So one rainy day last week Colin disassembled and reassembled things more to our preference.

The plan is that the house & add a room will come all the way to the edge of the arbor thus making it necessary to enter our yard thru the gate. Plus no one walking down the street will see our patio along the lake. It will be totally private. What you see thru the arbor is our shed & cedar hedge. Once we chose the stain for our front door we will use the same stain color for the arbor.

The girls are happy here and don't seem to miss their old larger yard. Of course snake hunting in the new sport.

Garter snakes have made the rock wall their home and here Caeli has spotted one. You can see the snake just off the tip of her ear slithering into the safety of the rocks. This time the snake got away!!

Enjoy your day folks……I know I will!

We had an arbour almost exactly like that one in front of our house in Edmonton! My dad built it in about 1944 and painted it white. It was still standing when we drove by the house in the late 80’s.

Croft…..good to know this one should still be around for a while. If we had more time Colin would have built it himself.

George…please keep sending those warm vibs!!

Bob…mille gracias for the heat…..it is SO appreciated.

Susie…if the girls catch a snake they just shake their heads trying to kill it. I found out that snaked bleed red blood. Yuck!

Marty….always a lazy one in the bunch!

Pat….I promise to have some heat for when you return with your new coach. I heard it is hot in Toronto also, but humid, not your favorite!!

  2. Nice to see that you are finally getting that nice weather I sent you. Enjoy !

Apparently you can thank us for the great weather forecast as it improved the day we left town.
