Lots to do….

……my cold is better but my head is spinning.  I know I will get through the next few weeks….somehow!  My trick is to focus on the next few hours and not what has to be done later….too scary.  I think I have taken on too many things of late.

Walter finished putting in the paving slabs on the RV side of the yard and brought in more Oyama shale for in front of the cedars where we park the golf cart. Everything looks so nice and clean and tidy. Mike, Walters's assistant is still off work following the incident with his big toe. Poor guy! Poor Walter having to do 2 peoples jobs in this heat.

Saturday we had a lovely late dinner outside and then we just sat in out lounge chairs ( me with a blanket ) till dark.  The geese have been very active and vocal lately, perhaps they are practicing for the big flight south.  As we sat there in the dark we could hear the various flocks coming home to the lake for the night.  We couldn't see them until that particular flock landed simultaneously with a large splash.  Then a few moments later another flock would land.  We felt privileged to be able to be so close to nature.

...and here they are!!!! Our friends Gord, driving their new RV and Pat coming thru the gate in the car.

We spent last winter with Pat & Gord in Stone Island near Mazatlan last winter and became good friends.  Within a few weeks of us selling our home here last April they sold their home in Vernon!  However they decided to become fulltime RVers so they headed off to Toronto to pick up a new to them Class A motorhome.  Quite a change from the 19 foot trailer they lived in last winter!!

Gord, relieved to have arrived. They did not enjoy the drive thru Canada, especially Manitoba's bad roads, although driving thru the Rockies in an RV was great they said.

At this time they have no idea what the future holds other than staying here at Holiday Park till the end of October.  They need some R & R time.  We are happy to have them just down the road.

Not quite Mexico style but close enough. They girls got their bath today.

I have to say I am dreading today…..I just don't want to leave Carmeh at the vet's.  We will sit with her till she is sedated and ready for her surgery.  She just doesn't deserve to go thru this.  I know she will be fine but still……..

Thanks for all your kind words & thoughts and tons of support. It really does help. I am surprised how much of our attention this will take, but we have to keep her safe from falling or getting hurt.

Are you getting any fallout from the fire on the west side of the lake?
