The first supper!

Last night we enjoyed our first dinner at the new house and it was fabulous.  Colin & Jannose drove from Edmonton yesterday to arrive in time for pre dinner vino followed by a feast.

First thing we did was put Colin to work unwrapping our new bar stools.

In the style of a new adventure we carted dishes, cutlery, wine glasses, water ( we still don't have it hooked up yet ) and all the food over.  Everything was cooked on the BBQ except for Jannose's delicious salad which was imported from Alberta and created on site.

While Colin & Colin cooked and joked, us ladies ( the girls included ) tried out the window seat. Eventually I will have a proper cushion made, likely in the spring.

Sockeye salmon, baked potatoes, zucchini, onions & caesar salad. As you can see we had to improvise with the lights.

Today our friends are going to do their own thing while we continue to deal with yet more trades at the house.  First thing on the agenda today is the installation of our kitchen lighting.  The gas fitter may or may not show up ( at least he warned us) so we might not be cooking on the stove there tonight. The curved beam is being discussed as I type and who knows what other surprises will come up.  I am striving to rest today other than  my appointment with my window covering guy.  I promise!!

Congratulations! It looks wonderful (the house AND the dinner) and happily, the project is nearing the end. Like my brother used to say, “The reason I hit myself over the head with a rock is because it feels so good when I stop”!

Had to giggle as I notice that one of the girls had her own glass of vino there in the window seat! She must have been a happy dog that evening.

Sounds like you had a great time together for your first supper. Looking foward to seeing the progress as it starts to wind down. A busy summer for sure.

Just an FYI your e-mail has been compromised. I received an e-mail from your address saying you are in Spain and need help to wire you money. I have seen one of these before on another friends e-mail a couple years ago they had to change their address. Let me know what you find
