Quacking ducks @ 11:50PM
Yes we live on Duck Lake and it is to be expected but they seem to be getting louder and louder as fall moves on.
Colin took this shot at 11:50PM, he said the ducks were swarming in front of our beach house. After he took the shot he woke me up so I could see for myself. Of course the ducks prevented me from falling back asleep for awhile. The geese are loudest during the day and sleep at night. Smart creatures.
The photo was taken with a Nikon D700 at 11:50PM, hand held, 6400ASA, exposure time 1.6 seconds, aperture F2.8. No photoshop was used.
Had a busy Saturday, some more touch up painting but he still never finished and our 2 sets of stairs were completed. I think we will wait till spring to deal with stair railings. I know what I want but I need to keep some pesos for Mexico. We spent the lovely fall day inside working but we are making progress.

What a beautiful view – even at night!
Connie…..I am so happy here. It is making all of this stress so worth it.
Pat…..it is what it is. I guess his settings showed the light, it was full moon.
George….peaceful as it gets around here right now.
Susie….not a nice thought! I know we will have to deal with the geese in the spring.
Very interesting photo!!….esp. that it would appear that light at 11:50pm. I know we are close to a full moon, but that can’t account for the apparent ‘daylight’ in the photo. Colin…is must be due to your camera settings or other factors I’m not aware of? Inquiring minds (well mine at least) want to know!
Nice night time shot and it looks like you had a peaceful day.
Thats a great shot of alota duck,s, amazing and hope they don’t come on your nice new yard and poop!! Nice view!!
Great photo and such a beautiful patio. We had some really loud quackers at Inks Lake too. One sounded like a really weird laugh and he was especially loud.
Longdog….I wish we had loons here, I lover their sound.
