Mexico updates!

Just a few quick notes for those of you who may not have been keeping up to date with the changes.

The first one has to do with new immigration laws that will come into effect on or about ( that's Mexico for you, no exact date ) November 12th.  You can read about it here.  For those who plan on spending more that 180 days in Mexico and for those who currently have an FM2 or an FM3 there will be changes in the paperwork involved once your current visa expires.  For those of us just wintering in Mexico there will likely be different paperwork than we are use to.

The big change is in the crossing at Lukeville into Sonoyta.  This is very well covered in the RV.Net Forum, just scroll down to Rving in Mexico to read about it.  If you plan to cross at Lukeville you must read about the changes which include being sure to have pesos with you, if you have an RV larger than 22 feet you need to park it on the US side of the border and walk across do do your paperwork and if you need to get a 10 year permit for your RV, well it gets complicated.

  1. Well we enjoyed it before but glad we are not going now, too expensive and complicated. Thanks for the update!
Enjoy your travels and be safe.

Like you say, that is Mexico! As soon as something works well, they change it. In stead of getting frustrated or mad, we just laugh, accept it, learn the new process and know it will change again soon. This is one of the reasons we love Mexico!
