The day sort of ran itself with little input from us.
We still were not up & dressed when Danny showed up and advised us that today was to be palapa repair day.
Over the summer the winds had taken away some of our palm fronds and if we did not do repairs then the sun would break down the plastic and then the wood support would start to rot so Danny added about 300 palm fronds and tied them in to the existing structure. We also got him to add plastic to the top 1/3 of the palapa that last years builder decided we did not need. All for 1300 pesos which included 3 guys working for many hours plus a load of soil for my new plants and the heavy plastic.
Colin had already arranged for Ismael to help wash the RV Saturday so the place with crawling with workers.
Not much I could do so I took a few photos. We ended up moving this plant to a different location later in the day.
Some enterprising local hooked up transport for the tourists from Mazatlan. He must have made a few pesos.
Now they are fixing our shade palapa for the front of the RV. Colin & Ismael are working hard. I did make Colin a huge omelette to keep up his energy.
Once the RV was clean I asked Ismael to plant my 2 new trees and 2 plants. I just love the new look in our garden.
This will be the 4th winter that beach vendor Filomena has been visiting us. Our Louisiana neighbor Linda getting fitted for an ankle bracelet. For some reason this year all the flower seeds I planted along that front strip have not germinated. Bad soil? Bad seeds?
Then it was time to relax with a glass of vino blanco and just enjoy the pelicans hunting for dinner. They put on the most active show I have ever seen. Very fun!
Norma & Croft came by for drinks and when we realized that sunset was a non event due to a bank of low clouds we went ahead with our combined great dinner.
…and that was Saturday. Either too many activities or not enough hours in the day!!
