We went to town

Yesterday, Saturday, was my second venture into Mazatlan since we have arrived. There are many here who go in daily and even some twice per day but we really like the peace of the Isla. The main purpose of the visit was to check on my new eyeglasses. Unfortunately the optician had input my email address into his computer incorrectly and was waiting to hear from me. I did show him the correct address on the piece of paper I had left with him but he never thought to recheck it! Sigh! So now we wait another ten days. He wanted me to prepay the glasses before he ordered them, which I had offered to do days and days ago but he declined. So I have now paid and patiently ( well I will try ) wait. I just know they won't be ready before the 25th! If they are, I may believe in Santa Claus again.

We then went to check out the new Jonathon Boutique Hotel located directly across from the Angela Peralta Theater. The outside blends in with the area but the inside....

...shows a lovely modern hotel, restaurant and sky bar with lovely view of mazatlan at night.

Lunch at one of favorite restaurants at the Pazuela Machado did not disappoint and Roberto the waiter remembered us. Sadly the Plazuela was empty and very few people were dining. My margarita was just perfect!

When it was time to leave we could not find a pulmonia so we walked towards the mercado where we finally were able to flag one down.  There were few to be seen and those we did see were occupied, mainly by locals doing their shopping.

It was gridlock, we sat here for the longest time. Then our driver got through and started weaving in & out of traffic. We were not in a hurry but I guess he wanted to make as many pesos as he could with as many fares as he could get.

Repair work on the side of the road.

Someones older RV has been put to another use! Mexicans are very creative.

Got back to the Isla in time to pick up our laundry and home to the zoo.  We had a quiet afternoon just relaxing and enjoying our site.  We were not hungry for dinner after our large lunch so just had a few snacks and watched a Christmas movie.  I really am having trouble getting into the holiday spirit this year and we almost decided to not put up any Christmas decorations but it just wouldn't be Christmas without them so perhaps it will happy today.  Stay tuned.

That is soooo frustrating when you are waiting for something, only to find out the wait was in vain !!

We were not in the Christmas spirit at all, until coming back to the cold and snow … lol.

Glad you put up your decorations, it will help for sure.

    Take care Contessa !!

TnT…..love Christmas but harder for some reason this year.

      Marty…. I believe it was.

Peter….impossible to answer. We RV because it is a lifestyle that we enjoy. We don’t come here to save money. We come because we love the area and we have been in many places all over Mexico. We don’t come to save money but it is cheaper than travelling by air plus we have our pets, our own bed, we can bring as much as we can pack into the RV, it is the perfect life for us. Rving is a different lifestyle. If we don’t like where we are we can move on. We use our RV not just in Mexico, you really have to think about what your goals are.
