So…Chris comes to the Isla…

…and misses……

...a non sunset event.

Thank goodness he arrived after dark and I didn’t have to explain a lack of sunset.

We met him at the panga with a vodka on the rocks.  Unfortunately he was too late to see much of the Isla or any boondocking sites here that he might enjoy in the future. Chris and his partner are Mexican RVers who enjoy boondocking above all else and blog about it among many other interesting things happening in Mexico.

Chris is an educator and suddenly had 3 days of work in the area, a day each in Los Mochis, Culiacan and here in Mazatlan.  He had hoped to arrive sooner but it was not to be but he did want to see our set up.  After a few drinks and snacks we had dinner, fresh dorado from the fish market.

The photo was an afterthought. We were too busy talking to think about it.

We continued our visit out by the fire. Yes it was warm enough to sit without a jacket. Colin played beautiful music while we enjoyed the sound of the surf and the lights of Mazatlan in the distance.

Chris thinks that Juan would really love to come RV here some day. Who wouldn't?

So sad to say adios after so few hours together.

We have been in touch with each other over the years via our blogs and some emails so it was very special to meet Chris in person.  Unfortunately 11PM came much too quickly and he did have to teach at 8AM today. I was sad waving adios at the panga but I do know that we will see each other soon.  Thanks for taking the time to visit the Isla Chris.

Thanks again for a wonderful evening. I thought I would never meet up with you guys although we had heard so much about you. Dinner and drinks were great and so was the time we spent out around the fire and in front of the beach. I hope we meet again on the island.

Your sunburst of flowers is gorgeous but then, you always seem to make your place cozy and special in no time. They all look so healthy and abundant. Can’t wait to get some started here.

Doesn’t look like as soon as I’d like, but for next year’s Carnaval for sure.
