Things really should be better

This has been an unsettled few months for me.

In addition to my other problems I now seem to have developed a reaction to gluten.  My skin rash returned suddenly last week and I was able to pinpoint an intake of flour quesadillas as the the only different thing I had done in those few days.  It had nothing to do with sitting in the sun as there hasn’t been any. Today is day 5 of being gluten free.  I have spent hours online studying this situation and have decided that I will try it for 2 weeks and then see what happens as I add gluten.  The rash is disappearing but my entire skin is peeling and it looks horrid.  I really really do not need this challenge in my life at this time.

Colin and I do not eat pork, beef or chicken.  We do eat dairy and fish plus a lot of soy products.  I just discovered that all of the soy products we use ( mainly Yves products ) have a wheat protein in them.  If I find that I am gluten intolerant this will affect our eating habits as we eat soy products at least five times per week.  Right now I am just taking it one day at a time.

Yes things really should be better.  The weather here is bizarre.  We should be sitting in the shade to get out of the heat.  Instead we are sitting inside to get out of the cool wind.

Heck, I am even running out of wine.

Fortunately I have Mother Nature for inspiration. These were taken yesterday.

…and Colin of course but things seem tough right now.

Thanks for the info about camera repair. I will deal with that tomorrow and I’ll let you know how that goes.

Healthwise you know I sympathize as I am fighting an autoimmune disease of unknown origin (Temporal Arteritis) and just over a year ago I was perfectly healthy. Life is just not fair!

Keep your spirits up….I know things will get better.

Kathy….de nada about the repair person. Is it because we are getting older??

Marty….I did check and Yves is said to be non GMO.

Longdog…..thanks, at least I have lots of fur babies to cuddle.

George….I think if we ate meat it might be a tad easier but that isn’t going to happen. Thanks for your support.

Pat…it really has been a crappy winter:((

You might check on your soy products, much of the soy produced in the US and Canada are genetically modified. I try to stay away from GMO soy but it’s really hard to do.

Sorry to hear that you are not doing well. The pictures are fantastic.

  4. It can be challenging to adjust you diet, we have two family members who need to be gluten free and one who has a wheat allergy.
    Good luck sorting this out.

Sorry you’re still not doing better. Hope you can get a handle on it soon. Agree with your commenter Marty and perhaps you already know, but most soy products in Canada and US are not only genetically modified, but very highly processed. I know that locally (Nature’s Fare) you can buy tofu that is made from organic and GM free soy, but the big producers of ‘fake meat products’….doubt it.

High 80’s here today and 90’s by the weekend. Perfect!!
