The girls need surgery!!

Surgery, surgery, surgery….

Yes in triplicate.  All 3 of us girls need surgery.

Caeli, our baby, needs to have a growth on her eyelid removed.

Carmeh, has had her growing lump on her right side, checked by our vet.  It is a fat growth that when grows even larger needs to be removed.  The vet actually stuck a needle in it yesterday and pulled out fatty fluid.  She also has a bump on her ear that needs to be removed.

Colin thinks we may wait until we get back to Mazatlan to have these two surgeries done as well as getting their teeth cleaned as it will be much cheaper.

Meanwhile, Mama C, got some unsettling news May 1st.  I need a new left hip!   So is the glass half full or half empty?  It is all at how I chose to deal with the situation.  Right now, today, I prefer to think of being out of pain a year from now and ready to dance the tango!

Yikes....this on display at my Dr's office.

The bad news is that even though I am on ‘the list’ it could be up to a six month wait!!  That of course would affect our travel plans next winter.  We can only deal with it day by day and decisions will have to be made based on how things pan out.

The hives are gone and I now have lizard skin.....I know lots and lots of hydration.

  1. Yep, always have to look at the bright side of things, otherwise everyone would be walking around with a frown on. Think of it this way, at least you are still able to get around and have your wits about you. One of the campers a Hacienda Contreras had to leave earlier than normal because he was scheduled for hip surgery this month and had to be home by April so that he could have the pre-op tests done and another camper couldn’t even make it down to Hacienda this year because he had his hip done in the fall and won’t be ready to drive down here for the winter. Seems like lots of hips are needing to be replaced, hope they have a spare one around when it is your turn. 🙂

      Kevin & Ruth….appreciate your support.

Marty…I did tell them we had to leave but ‘the list’ is what determines who goes first.

Connie….THANKS!!!! I will get some ASAP.

      George…gracias.

Susie….we will wait till Maz for the girls also. I think we use the same vet?? LA Jungla? I just hope to get there by Dec. 1.

Longdog….I haven’t checked in with Judy post surgery. I will check it out.

I hope they can get you in sooner. Tell them you have to be travel ready so you can finish your recuperation on the Isla.

Google – Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment – it’s great for healing skin. There are different Aquaphor products but I like the healing ointment best. It is for dry, cracked, or irritated skin. I use it for chapped lips and dry skin, especially the tops of my hands. The cheapest I’ve found it is at Walmart.

  4. Amazing how all these parts are getting replaced, sure is a lot better than suffering in pain!
Good luck with all your surgeries.

Whow!! You are having a lot of problems, your lucky to get in that early, I would of thought it was a longer waiting list!! Sara also has a fatty lump, had it checked in Maz. won’t remove it unless it really grows or when she gets her teeth cleaned in Maz…

Glad the dachsies issues are minor. Yours not so minor but Judy (Travels with Emma) had her hip done this year and is doing absolutely great.
