I was ATTACKED
Right in the ear!!
I was in the conversation pool doing my exercises when I felt something in my left ear. I put my finger in and out came a wasp. Then a small pain began and quickly became more intense. I stuck my finger in again and out came the stinger. Yuck!
It was evident that I had to do something quick as my ear was hotter than heck and throbbing. So my friend and I jumped into the golf cart and back home we came. Should I put my ear into the freezer, how could I fit an ice cube into my ear. Finally I found a hydrocortisone anti-itch creme. I applied that frequently and along with mucho ice cold vino blanco I managed to get through the night.
I am taking a break from pool therapy today. It is close to 98F with the humidity today so I am staying put!
Poor me…….

You should have put some toothpaste on it. Works like a charm, really!
Colleen…..does it make if it is fluoridated or not?
Peter….right! The Mexicans use lime juice on everything including open cuts.
Rod….I agree.
George…..not allergic but I over react.
Mr. Butterbean….you were lucky you didn’t get bit. Must be global warming.
Or lime juice…
This is my first year here, but it seems that there are more wasps than tourists out there!
Those stings are now fun but at least you are not allergic to them.
Howdy Contessa,
OWWWWWWW AND OWWWWWWWW, THAT HURTS!!!!!!!!! OWWWWWWWW!!!!!
We’ve seen more yellow-jackets, Guinea-wasps, red-wasps and black-wasps, this year than any year since we’ve been on the ranch; they’re everywhere, especially around the watering dispensers for the horses…. So sorry you got it in your ear… Joyce has been ‘popped’ 3 times, so far and I have been SO LUCKY that I haven’t been stung… Just this morning I was cranking the riding lawn-mower, put my BARE HAND on the back of the seat and CRUSHED a little wasp-nest, behind the seat; the wasps flew away…
I’ve heard of lots of potions for wasp stings, but never heard of using TOOTHPASTE; might work.. Polident cleans the ‘gunk’ off of headlights, really well!!!
Hope the exersize helps get the hip-bone working again, WITHOUT TOOOOO MUCH PAIN… may try toothpaste !!!!
I don’t think the fluoride matters one way or another but I would use regular toothpaste not gel. My neighbor was stung and nothing helped until his wife “googled” it and found toothpaste. Worked like a charm.
Thanks Colleen, good to know.
