NEWS FROM MEXICO
Friends and fulltime RVers Debra and John arrived at Tres Amigos a few days ago. They are months early and love it despite the heat and high humidity. They say it is like a steam bath. They plan to become permanent residents of Mexico.
That is our RV site on the left, where the red tent is. The owner of Tres Amigos RV Park, owns an RV and moved it onto our site to enjoy our palapa and gardens. However our gazebo seems to be missing, Deb and John are going to search for it. I actually bought a new canvas top for it so hopefully it is still there somewhere, as we do use it for shade. Worse case we will have to find a metal 10 X 10 structure to bring down with us.
There is another storm battering the area, Tropical Depression Lorena. More rain and wind in the forecast.
The new Durango Mazatlan road is 97% ready and is to be inaugurated on October 17, 2013.
We plan to leave here October 27th, cross into Mexico at Nogales on November 5th and arrive on the Isla and Tres Amigos by noon on November 7th where we will stay for five full months!!

Thats good for Debra and John I am sure they will love living in Mexico.
Good luck finding your gazebo.
George….I think the plan is to travel North during the summer.
Sandie…that must have been some storm.
Chris…..time to re think your holidays and get more time.
Ruth….excited yes but not sure how I will get everything done.
Sandy….I think that the new road has a record number of exciting bridges.
Colleen….I think the water did come over the top which is why some of the plants suffered.
Marty….how about just one big long trip rather than 2 short ones.
Maria….we all need Isla therapy…..desperately.
Nice of them to send you some pictures so you can see how your place is summering. We had a couple of bad storms go through our RV park in AZ that damaged some of the park models.
I am very jealous. We were in Mazatlan in June, but I think I am suffering withdrawls. This is the first year in many that we didn’t have return days planned or even purchased.
October 27th isn’t too far away, you must be getting pretty excited especially after seeing these pictures of the Isla!
Ruth
Love the look of that beach and the bridge is super awesome.
It looks nice. Hope the water doesn’t come any higher.
We miss it so bad we are thinking of planning an anniversary trip in October and another one in February.
oh wow, I am so jealous, Am so in need of some Isla therapy.
I am looking forward to crossing that bridge but the opening date for the highway keeps getting pushed back!
Croft, I know that you will do it one day.
Hello.
We are going to winter in Mexico and we’re thinking of Tres Amigos. As we were searching for info we came across your blog. Coinsidently we are from the same neck of the woods. We manage Salmon Lake Resort on Douglas Lake Ranch, we close at the end of the month, will visit in Calgary before heading south to Mexico. Can you anwser a few question.
How long have you been going there?
There is many park to choose from, why did you choose this one?
Is the 30 amp shared?
So far this one has caught our eye. We hope to make a decision soon.
Are they usually full on reservation by now.?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Josee and Sean
Josee & Sean……I have emailed you all the information you asked about plus much more. For my readers, this is our 5th winter there and we have come to love it. There is still lots of room as it is a large park. Electricity is 15 or 50 AMP so you will need an adpator.
