Beach Party

RV2 @ Tres Amigos RV Park here on Stone Island hosted a beach party for all of the RVers and some friends.

Cheryl and Peggy both turned 60 on the same day, the 27th. An excellent reason for a great party. Here the girls are dancing the first dance. Someone went to all the trouble to smooth out the sand and write Happy Birthday in it.

My favorite band, Los Cryps was hired to play for us.

This is the group that we have been going into town to see and dance to.  They culminated my Enchanted Evening, a little over a week ago.

We danced and we partied and danced and danced. I think I only sat out 2 songs all night.

This is the same band that we have been dancing to in town at the Plazuela Machado. I like to call them my boy band.

The party started at 6:30 PM and we all brought an appetizer to share and our drinks and chairs.

We danced the night away. The band had been hired for two hours but I did a collection and we were able to retain them for a third hour.

They are a wonderful group of musicians mostly performing on weekends.

The first fellow ( no name but he is 24 years of age ) in the left above , plays lead guitar and is a radiologist at Sharps Hospital.  He is also an operatic tenor . The drummer ( 21 yrs. ) in the back is studying economics.  Carlos ( 19 yrs.) is studying to be a civil engineer and is the lead singer, he plays rhythm guitar.  The fellow on the right ( 24 yrs. ) plays bass and is a graphic designer.

Cheryl and Peggy blowing out their 60 candle!

The original idea was a campfire with the band playing in behind. Most of us danced but many enjoyed the music from the comfort of the fire. It actually was a perfect evening temperature wise with almost no wind.

The band asked for a photo with those of us who stayed to the end of the fiesta.

It was so special that I could be a part of this evening and be able to dance.  The past three years have not been easy for me and I am certainly making up for it this year.  However, I may have overdone the dancing just a tad.  Even though I was barefoot in the sand my feet hurt today.  I have to say that dancing in the sand is much more fun than on a dance floor.

Guess who is getting ideas to hire the band next December?  Maybe even sooner?
