Further West

This was taken last Saturday, the 25th of January. The sun set on the left of El Faro about halfway up the mountain.

A little later the same evening.

You see that on Sunday, the 26th, the sun is setting more to the right in the photo.

A second shot on Sunday.

A final photo from Sunday with great cloud reflections.

Yesterday, Monday the 30th you can see the sun setting more on top of the lighhouse.

This was taken on December 13, 2013. The sun was setting much more to the left of the lighthouse.

I was surprised at the different location the sun touched down on each of the past three evenings.  That is quite a change in only three days.  I think if we saw the sunset over the ocean we would not see such a difference in the position of the setting sun.  That is quite the change in a two month period.

Marty….and you will have fabulous sunsets where you are staying.

      George….never too warm!

Margie….now that would be something to see. Wish we were here year round but that won’t happen.

  2. We have noticed the sun setting in a different location in the mountains behind us too. Probably why its getting warmer here too. Very warm.

Contessa, When we lived in Costa Rica the first house we built overlooked the bay out to the ocean. We would have sunsets most of the year, but it moved drastically across the horizon. A couple of months we would not be able to see the sun set as it moved so much to one side; then it would slowly make its way back to the other side, which meant for a good part of the year we had incredible sunset directly in front of us. Then, once it arrived on the other side we would lose it again until it started back the other direction. I thought that was really interesting!
