A New Experience
Tonight was an experience I must share with all of you. I photograph the Guitar Festival in Culiacan and assist in other ways. Well, tonight my assistance was needed in another way, The conductor fell ill and I was close by. We are good friends. He asked “Colin, can you help and conduct the orchestra for the 2nd half of the program”. I said ” I don’t know how”. He said, ” You are a great guitarist and know music well, just wave your hands to the orchestra, they will know what to do. You will be able to handle it. I will introduce you as a guest conductor from Canada” and so he did and…….. so I did.
Fantastico !

Oh man! I have conductor’s envy. I haven’t conducted since High School. It was a lot of fun.
Mind you, if it’s a 100 piece orchestra? That would be little bit mind blowing. That group looked like a manageable size.
Fun stuff!
Cool beans, Colin! Neat experience!
