Cerebral Renewal in Mazatlan
Thanks to friends, Renee & Greg, we were able to regain our sanity after a night fighting the bad guys. The morning after the termite attack we had to cancel our morning chiropractic appointments while we mopped up the RV and we also debated cancelled our luncheon. However a change of scenery is invigorating and God knows we needed it.
Renee & Greg upon hearing of our battle over the past 18 hours immediately set out to soothe us. That meant wine for me and a special blend of homemade iced tea for Colin.
This winter they are renting a lovely 3000 sq ft home on 21 de Marzo in Centro, complete with 14 foot ceilings.
I was still in shock so I did not do justice with photography of this lovely old home. It has been renovated but there was enough of the original architecture to make it interesting. Sadly I neglected to take a photo of the exterior or the garden area.
Lucky completes this wonderful family. He has so much personality.
Lunch was perfect. A bed of greens, baby romaine, arugula, heirloom tomatoes and avocado made the perfect resting place for grilled tuna. Of course the unique dressing made with imported oils and vinegars made the meal GOURMET with capital letters.
Renee, Greg and Lucky were wonderful hosts and we soon felt the stresses leaving us. Suddenly four hours had passed, it seemed like mere moments. We all had other errands to get done. Adios to wonderful people whom we hope to see at least once more before we all head North.
Just as we left, Renee gifted us with a large bottle of CedarCide which will allow us to keep up with the spraying of the carpet and other interior areas of the RV. This will allow us to stay on top of all the fleas and critters crawling around our home. Who else has CedarCide in Mazatlan? Lucky us.
We did a few quick errands at the mercado and headed off to the embarcadero. It had been a wonderful afternoon, we felt renewed but we wanted to get back to the Isla. Who knew that further entertainment was in our immediate future.
Someone just bought a new ATV and wanted to transport it to the Isla.
As we sat on our panga, we were able to watch what we thought would be an impossible loading process.
We could not believe what we were seeing.
It certainly was a struggle.
Meanwhile our panga was being loaded with a bike, a large TV and some boxes.
We arrived at the Isla just before the ATV. You can rent a private panga for a mere 50 pesos, $3.83USD, certainly an economical way to transport an ATV. I imagine we shall be seeing this one racing across the beach from time to time.
We arrived home just in time to observe the two cruise ships leave port within moments of each other.
Indeed our few hours in Mazatlan had calmed our minds and we were ready to relax and enjoy our paradise once again.
