Flying to Edmonton this morning
My regular readers will remember that when my mother passed away last July, I could not go back home as I had just very recently had a hip replaced and could not travel. At the time of her death my mother’s body was donated at her request, to the University of Alberta Anatomical Gifts Program.
The University is having a commemorative memorial service today for the families of the Anatomical Donors, that the University’s Anatomical Division have concluded their studies of. I have known about today for three weeks now and have been emotional off and on. For me it will be a closure of sorts. I know that I will be extremely sensitive all day. I’m certain that the afternoon ceremony will be very moving and melancholy. My plan is to have a quiet breakfast at the airport before meeting my family at the University. I will later go back to my Dad’s and spend the evening with him and fly back home late afternoon Monday.

So nice that you are now able to attend this service, have some closure and visit with your dad too.
The most important thing is to take good care of yourself, and do what you feel you can. I hope the memorial service brings some closure for you, and you enjoy the time spent with your dad. I’ll be thinking of you…
Bless you, Contessa and I’ll be thinking of you today, too!
Sending lots of thoughts of “ease and grace” to you this day, my friend…
I hope that the day touches you in a good way.
Closure might be a bit tough, but you’ll get through it. Decent of your Mom to donate to the University. Have a safe trip.
Blessings. Hope it’s a day of good memories.
Contessa, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family today. May God grant you peace and the blessing of dear memories!
A very emotional day I’m sure.. Enjoy your visit and recall good memories with your dad and siblings..
