The final gift

Last September, a few months after Mom had passed, I travelled to Edmonton to help clean out Mom’s clothing and other items. We found a box at the back of her closet. When we opened it it was obvious that Mom had purchased this as a gift for me.

Rather then put it outside ( it is a weather resistant resin ) we have placed it inside our home. Sometimes as I pass by I think it's one of our girls.

Thanks Mom.  I love it, one of my best gifts ever.

So very sweet for our mom to think of you in that way. I’m glad you found it!

  2. It took me a few seconds to figure out that it’s a statue rather than one of the girls! Ha ha! My mom once bought matching turtleneck sweaters from LLBean for Millie and me. Good heavens did we look comical (and the sweaters were promptly returned after mom got a good laugh at the sight of us!).

Lynne, sometimes as I walk by I think it is one of the girls. It is totally the same size. I wold love to see a photo of you and Millie in matching sweaters.

Kevin…it really is lifelike except there is no way the girls would wear a hat and shoes. I might get them to wear the dress and purse 🙂

  3. Nice! At first glance, I also thought it was one of your dogs! Too funny…

How fantastic. I too did a double take thinking it was Caeli or Carmeh. So adorable and how neat to find it waiting for you.,

~ she sure is Peter. Plus she doesn’t bark or need to be fed.

~Connie….the perfect gift. It really does look real, sometimes when I come around the corner, I just see the legs and wonder what one of the girls is doing there.

~George….she only shopped through catalogues as she didn’t get out much so it was a lucky and very special find for her.

~Deb….she must have been saving it for a special occasion to give it to me and I think that it worked out perfectly.
