Que pasa
It’s official, we are having a crappy spring. Rain, wind, rain showers and the odd sighting of the sun followed by more of that wet stuff. Not much you can do but make a point of heading outside when the sun does shine. Thanks to all those who took the time to leave me a birthday comment. I really appreciated it.
Colin had a job yesterday and I mostly worked at my desk. But I did treat myself to a massage at the end of the day. I used to have a massage bimonthly but the price of $90.00 for 60 minutes is a bit steep and now I might have one every 2 months. As most of you know I do indulge in a weekly massage while in Mexico. I have my own massage table and Casa Maria comes to our RV and I receive a 90 minute massage for $38.00/450 pesos. Both of the people I use are RMT’s ( Registered Massage Therapists ). Just for the record, my massages are more therapeutic that just for relaxation purposes.
I have spoken with my father a few times during this past week and he is still having more tests such as hearing and eyes and special tests for his lungs as he gets out of breath just talking. Meanwhile he is loving his physio and they told him that they hope to be able to send him home with 40% more mobility and agility and hopefully balance. The good news is that he is happy to be there and is willing to stay for as long as it takes. Initially he was told it would be anywhere from 2 – 6 weeks and Monday will be the end of his second week. It is a relief to know he is in a safe place and I don’t have to worry about him.
The lake had gone down quite a bit, so we don’t have to worry about flooding but because it is so high the waves ( due to the high winds on occasion ) are breaking over the patio. The lake was very calm in this photo.
Loved the colors of this kayaker, in addition to the pink & white boat and yellow paddles, her shirt was purple.
This is an extremely tall pink dogwood tree and thanks to my new camera I was able to zoom right to the top.
Does anyone know what kind of bush this is?
The flowers look like large popcorn balls.
Great news for Mazatlan, all the cruise ships are coming back. Who is coming and how many can be found here. This will be fantastic for the economy. Even more exciting is that the US government has dropped Mazatlan from from their travel alert list. This alert has been in place for several years and has had an affect on Americans traveling to Mazatlan. Tourism will soon be booming once again.
Meanwhile I'm looking forward to getting our kayaks out on the lake, soon.

Hola Ruth, well I thought Dad was doing well until I got a call from one of my sister’s. She thinks he needs to go into a home because he forgot to put his hearing aid in??? I tried to calm her down to no avail. Not to worry I will stay on top of things. I will have to keep an eye on that plant and see what it does in the summer and in the fall.
That looks to be what my grandmother always called a “Snowball Bush”. No idea if that’s the correct name or not!

Hello Barbara, thanks for the BD greetings. It was a truly relaxing day with no stress or commitments which was the best part. Now that name does ring a bell, Snowball bush? Let’s see what someone else says.

Hey George, when we lived in Vancouver, if the sun was shining, no one was in their offices. Being out in the sun is so great, it beats anything else.
Hi Contessa, the plant or tree is called a Viburnum bust or the common word if snowball bush. Very beautiful but is prone to aphids.

I hope nobody puts me in a home next time I forget something. It’s hard watching your parent age, it sounds like your Dad is responding well to his situation.
I have a Snowball Bush, it is about 15 years old and I have never seen aphids on it. maybe it depends on the climate.
Yeah Jean, 15 years and bug free. Good to know. I think my sister is over reacting and trust me I will be there for my Dad to protect his better interests.
