Global warming
We also lost power for a few hours during the storm and there were still thousands without power 24 hours later. Not only that, it turned so cold that evening and for most of the next day ( 10C ), that we turned on the fireplace for several hours. July is the hottest time of the year, this never happens here during the summer. Needless to say the orchardists were concerned with split cherries and bruised peaches. Today marks the first day of several consecutive days with anticipated highs of 32 to 35C/ 91 – 95F. Too many extremes for me.
I found the last photo and article just a few days ago from somewhere online. The words speak for themselves.
Do you believe in global warning?

MY FRIEND B. JUST LEFT AND WE WERE DISCUSSING GLOBAL WARMING. I SAID THAT EVERYONE THOUGHT AL GORE WAS OUT OF HIS MIND TALKING ABOUT THIS VERY ISSUE MANY YEARS AGO. WHEN HE LEFT, I TURNED ON MY POOTER AND ACCIDENTALLY CLICKED ON YOUR BLOG AND THERE WAS YOUR HEADING. SO FUNNY THAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT IT AT ALMOST THE SAME TIME.
WE GOT YOUR RAIN YESTERDAY AND I WAS DRIVING IN IT WITH WIND GUSTS OF 90K. THERE WERE TREES ALL OVER THE PLACE, INCLUDING SOME RIGHT BELOW MY WINDOW ON JASPER AVE. AT TIMES I THOUGHT I WAS IN A BLIZZARD WITH VERY LITTLE VISIBILITY. I THINK I HEARD 48 FLIGHTS AT THE AIRPORT WERE CANCELLED AND PASSENGERS WERE BEING BUSED TO OTHER CITIES. STREETS WERE TERRIBLE.
Hi Arizona Gal, it was a wicked storm and if I’m not mistaken folks in Saskatchewan got it next. I forgot to mention about the many trees snapping off, even had one here down the street from us and someone in ( I think it was Penticton ) had a large tree fall on their roof.
We have not really experienced much different weather, but then I may have forgotten.
Have only used our Air conditioner once this year for a short time.
But the extreme temperatures are more that I remember.
Wow, when they show these pictures about Mexico it is a country that has no infrastructure, drainage, bad government and lots of poverty. Hmm, maybe it’s just global warming after all. Sorry to hear about the storms.
