I’m back home again!
I flew home Friday late afternoon. As soon as I saw Colin I started to cry. When we got home the girls went crazy. Caeli sat in my lap and licked my face for over 15 minutes and just sat with a paw on each side of my neck. Finally she got up and left and let Carmeh greet me. They have been following me around ever since.
Colin made me a lovely dinner and by 9:00PM I was in bed exhausted. Yesterday I was able to indulge in a 90 minute bath with a book. Pure bliss. I worked at my desk for a few hours trying to organize things into piles and priorities. I was made another gourmet dinner last night and again I went to bed early. I had no idea how exhausted I was. Today I am on my own and will be for several days as Colin works. The fact that he actually took a few hours off both evenings was huge as he has so much to do. He has a deadline of Tuesday and another of October 10th and so while I was sleeping or reading he was working. He is going from 7AM until 1AM everyday. Needless to say he is happy that he has so much work but why it all comes at once is a mystery. Happens every year.
After a few hours on the computer this morning he left to shoot a new home and won’t be back till about 10PM. That left me in charge of the girls, the house and my desk. I got a lot done, leaving much for another day. The girls and I had a long walk in which I let them sniff all they wanted. Colin has been giving them small and fast walks so this was a treat. Once I post this, I intend to dust the house, don’t think it has been done for a very very long time. Looking forward to a glass of wine and my book later. Before that I will take the girls for a golf cart ride which they love.
Dad was moved to a transition unit on Tuesday and he will stay there until an opening comes up in long term care. More details in my next post. I am here until October 12th and even though I have to work it will seem like a holiday. You should see my to do list for when I go back to Edmonton.

Hi Contessa, glad you are home for a much needed rest. Just the fact that the stress level is so much lower will be good for you.
