Just a little too busy for us right now
I am spending more time on the phone and the computer than I want to but it needs to be done. We are awaiting some documents that we need to sign and have notarized. So far I have managed to save us close to $1,500.00 CAD. Good thing I didn’t take the first suggestion but researched and researched. Things are complicated when you are in Mexico and need some legal work done re something in Vancouver and your accountant is currently in India. In the end we went with a professional from Kelowna to put it all together. However we were shocked that the Canadian Consulate here in Mazatlan wants $50.00 CAD per notarized signature which means between $400.00 – $600.00 CAD more. Meanwhile I got a lead on a Mexican notary who would charge us about 400 pesos ( $33.00CAD ) to notarize it all. I am waiting to hear back from him to see if he meets all of the Canadian requirements. Most complicated and time consuming.
The audience loved the performance but perhaps because Colin plays the guitar and I have the ear for it we were not overly impressed. Our massage therapist ( yeah, we both got massages Monday morning ) concurred with our assessment of the performance before we even had a chance to tell her about it. She had gone to the second show and is a musician herself.
No sunset last night. We have had two very overcast days. We and another couple did watch the ship head out as we sat warm and cozy in front of our fire pit. This morning the Grand Princess came in and there were a few people here to enjoy the beach. Not sure yet if we will have a sunset or not tonight. Best get this posted. Thanks for dropping by.

We’ve been overcast as well the last few days – no sunset pics. Too bad about the concert but you are right – all was not lost – looked like a nice evening for the two of you. Definitely a way to de-stress – yikes! $50cad per signature – crazy! I hope it all works out!
Teresa….Hopefully by the weekend we will be back to blue sky and sunshine. $50.00 per signature is way loco.
George…..please know that I am sending waves of heat your way.
Bob…..Now I can’t get that French Horn out of my head :((
longdong2…..you are right, the spit of land comes around behind the ship’s berth.
Susan…..your time will come. You will return to Mexico one day. I know you will when the time is right.
At least you are enjoying the beach and warm weather, on the ocean. Keep having too much fun.
Hm. I seem to have lost my original comment. Did something dumb.
Anyhoodle, it can be a bit of a mixed blessing to have “an ear for music”. There have been times when my wife is as happy as a clam (tone deaf) and I’m wincing. Or trying not to. Don’t want to be a poop head. There was one time at a concert at Schönbrunn Palace when the French Horn player was way off. (stuck in my brain to this day) Felt bad for the person. But hey, those tickets were free!
Good luck with dealing with issues over long distances. Having email and such helps, but it’s still a pain.
We were fortunate enough to not have any major things get sideways when we were overseas. As it was, I’d have to wait until after 3:00 p.m. in order to make any calls back to North America. Had to make sure I didn’t forget, or there would go another day. Plus, I like to get things out of the way first thing in the morning, which can’t be done when you have to wait six hours.
Again. Good luck.
Love the pictures as always but the last ship picture is so funny as it looks like the ship is on land.
Thanks Contessa. If I close my eyes I can almost imagine being there. NOT!!! LOL Can’t wait for my next vacation!!
Getting legal documents properly notarized out of one’s own country would surely be tricky. Lucky you’re doing all the research before spending all that money and going ahead. I surely can’t complain about our location, hikes, and sunsets, but I’ll tell you we are craving some ocean time! Enjoy…
