A few days ago we walked down to the restaurant end of the beach on Stone Island. Usually we walk the other way, but we wanted to see what was happening. I thought you might like to come along with us. These photos appear in the sequence they were shot.
Always there are children playing in the sand creating and building a sand structure.
Time for some adult beverages in one of the many local beachfront restaurants.
Oceanside we see two of the new vessels in port.
The girls get ahead of us down the beach.
Just a few of the many strolling musicians. Could you make your living walking up and down the beach trying to get someone to pay you a few pesos to serenade them?
Time to return some of the for rent ATV’s to their base.
Moving three at a time saves on fuel.
An entrepreneur with the hopes of selling shade during Semena Santa/Easter Week.
Time to bring in the boat for the day.
Have you ever been on a banana boat? I did once in Hawaii over 28 years ago. Once is enough.
Some happy beach goers.
Just hanging around waiting for customers.
Not something you want to share a beach with. The owner had the rope wrapped around his hand several times like that would have stopped that dog. We kept the girls well away from him.
This restaurant must be doing very well or anticipating many patrons in the coming months. A roof that size doesn’t come cheap.
Waiting for the sunset.
A fisherman’s day is never over. Today it’s the nets that require repair.
I hope you enjoyed your walk as much as we did 😀

I wanted a picture of the cart Marisco “El Gringo” but did not get camera focused very fast – thought they would run be down. The man pushing cart said as he went by me “$5.00 for picture”! I did step in front of them but thankfully got out of their way before slowing them down. Enjoyed your photos as always.
Hola Sandy, I did get a photo of the lady from her back end but not so flattering 🙁 She was just stopped and resting against her cart. Next time you plan to come to the Isla let us us know so we can get together. When are you leaving??? Do we have time to get together??
I loved it – great beach walk…I have been following u + lots of your friends 4 some time. I live in Australia and recently retired. .Condolences for your recent loss. Keep up the great blog…Cheers
Welcome to the comment section of the blog Leslie. Great to know you are out there following along. Hopefully one day when we retire we will be able to come and visit you, perhaps take an RV through your great country. Thank you for your condolences.
Still fun and looks familiar.
I guess you could say familiar George but to me the beach and its scenes differ everyday. Always new faces and activities. I had never seen 2 ATV’s being pulled before, always just 1 other. It is never boring here, that is for certain.
Lovely walk on the beach.
So glad you enjoyed it Colleen. Wish you and the pups could have joined us.
I found the beach to be very clean when we were there. Makes SPI look like a dump on holidays. We enjoyed our time there. Wish we would have stayed a few months though, too much to do and too much to talk about.
Hola Chris….there is always another year and another year. Hopefully when you come back we will still be here.
