…and so it begins

We have caught up to the taxes and dealt with the mail piled up over the last several months.  We have done the required medical appointments and business appointments.  Colin has done as much as he can in the yard for now. What next?  Well of course, that dreaded four letter word, work.

A vineyard in bloom along the side of the highway as we sped by on the way to my final ( yeah ) vein appoinment.

A vineyard in bloom along the side of the highway as we sped by on the way to my final ( yeah ) vein appointment.  I actually took the time to check my legs this morning and they are looking so much better so it has been worth it.  Still 6 more days to wear these horrid stockings.  Seriously doubt I will last that long.

That same day we had a meeting with our financial manager who happily informed us that over the past 9 months that we have been with him, that we made a profit of 9%.  Pretty good considering the changes in the economy.  A very nice profit indeed.

We were treated to a wonderful lunch at the very new Kelowna Yacht Club.  Colin has done aerials of this property and now is commissioned to do photography of the completed project.

I indulged in a tasty Moroccan quinoa salad  that included nuts, raisins, artichokes and more, topped with feta cheese, with added tuna.  Delightful.

The next morning we awoke to a very low snow level on the hills surrounding us. It was chilly.  The snow did melt within a few hours. Today we got to greet the day with 2C/35.6F and frost. But the forecast promises that the next several days are going to be blue sky and perfect which is why Colin is going to be working so hard.

Yesterday we did a major shopping at Canadian Tire, the most I have ever spent there at one time.  We went in for three things and came back with literally a full car load.  I even had things laying under my legs in the front seat.  They had some high end cookware on sale at 70% off and we refitted both the RV and house kitchens.  The new fry pans are fab and so easy to clean.  I also purchased an induction cooker for the RV.  Good decision.  We also picked up some new loungers and tables for the Isla.  Can’t wait to use them.

We even got the girls two new beds.

We even got the girls two new beds.  I had just thrown them down on the ground with no thought when Carmeh checked out the first one by doing her make a nest dance, but decided the further one was the softest for her nap.

Meanwhile Caeli was conked out

Meanwhile Caeli was conked out overlooking the patio.  Usually there is full sun here all day but this was a chilly day.

This morning they were both sharing the same bed enjoying the rays.

A gift from mi amore. He knows that I am sad that he will be gone most of the next 4 days and be wanted to treat me.  Yes even though we just spent 5.5 months together we will miss each other.  But it has to be if we want to return to the Isla which of course we do 🙂

I am going to save this special treat till Friday PM.  When I can hopefully just sit with a book and a glass of high end vino and relax, just me and the girls.  So very sweet.  Hope you all had a good day today.

If Colin meets Al Cotton, the commodore of the Kelowna yacht club, tell him to say hi from Croft and Norma. We have been friends since the early 60’s.

  2. Remember, life is too short to drink cheap wine.
