Our last leg heading East

Friday ended up being a grueling day

Friday ended up being a grueling day despite only driving 353Km/219 miles.

The highway seemed to slow us down due to passing thru many small towns.

Colin thought this guy was spraying pesticide.

We than had a stop for a very long freight train. So very prairie like. The girls couldn't figure out why we were stopped and not getting out.

As we reached the outskirts of Winnipeg we encountered major construction. Can you believe 90 minutes to travel one mile?  There went our afternoon.  It became bumper to bumper for miles after this photo was taken.  We kept calling to tell everyone we were held up in traffic over and over.  Who knew it could be so bad?

It was while sitting in traffic that I realized how buggy our windshield was.

It was while sitting in traffic that I realized how buggy our windshield was.  The front of the RV was splattered in bug guts.  Lots of insects on the prairies.

We finally got to Colin’s brother’s place.  Bill and Gloria had been waiting all afternoon for us to arrive but thanks to cell phones we were able to explain the reason for our delay.  First thing was to park and set up. Next on the list was to take the girls and head over to visit Colin’s Mom who was anxiously awaiting our arrival.

She looks fabulous for 100 and 8 months, doesn't she?

Colin loves to tease her. They really do have so much fun together.

Back to the RV to feed the girls and head out for the evening.  Colin’s brother and sister in law were heading out to a play booked long ago.  Colin and I were taking Mommio as I have always called his Mom ( cuz she is so hip ) out on the town for dinner.  The girls were going to be in lock down in a pen.  Sadly Mommio was not feeling well so we ended stay in with a very yummy pizza.  We were happy to fall into bed at midnight.

Sorry for the delay in posting but we have been on the go non stop since arriving and our time with Mommio is limited and she is our priority.

Oh Yes!!..Without our mom’s where would we be??….Mine was soo cool and I sure miss her.
Pizza in a quiet setting is probably better than a louder restaurant……
I am still friends with a lady who was a friend of my parents…she is 95?..Still sharper than me.
    Enjoy not driving.

So neat that you had a cool Mom and are still enjoying one of her friends. We are enjoying being stationary.

  4. You are almost in Ontario, just around the corner.
Nice that you had some fun with Collins mom and I agree eating in is always nicer than a noisy restaurant.
Travel safe on the way home.

Mommio looks fabulous. Just sorry she wasn’t feeling real good but a yummy pizza is a great alternative.

WOW. 100 is the new… 70? 60? Colin looks just like her.

So excited that you guys are Haven-bound today. I keep looking at the clock and a map and trying to guess where you are.

Just curious, has Colin done the super fine steel wool cleaning job on the windshield followed by Invisible Glass cleaner? I did it a few weeks ago on the little car. Worked great and helps to keep the bugs down and when you use the wipers and wiper fluid everything comes right off. Saludos! Colin your mom is beautiful. I hope I can be the male version 🙂

Colin thinks it would be too big a job to do on the RV but thanks for the info. I’m certain you will age perfectly my friend.
