The weather Gods were angry
Sunday morning started out sunny and clear but that did not last long. Fortunately Colin was able to give the girls at least one walk that day. We enjoyed a family brunch at a close by restaurant while the girls were under lock down in the pen on the floor of the RV. They did not escape, only because I worked at keeping everything firmly in place. I even removed the chairs. I forgot to take photos at the restaurant. In fact I hardly took any photos that day. I was and still am pretty worn out. I am going to return to Kelowna with more bags than I left with…..those under my eyes 😕 Unless specified all of the photos in this post were taken by Bill, Colin’s older brother.
On our way to brunch the skies opened up but stopped in time for us to leave and get Mommio in the car without her getting wet. Once home the rain began in earnest. It came down in sheets and was bouncing off the pavement.
Bill & Gloria are selling their lovely home as it is time to downsize. Colin decided that some (most ) of the shots the realtor took were not depicting the features and layout of the home. Sadly he only had one camera and one lense with him but with Bill’s borrowed tripod was able to get some good shoots which he will stitch into some wonderful panoramic shots that will better show the home.
We spent the afternoon chatting, listening to Colin play the guitar and watch the rain fall. It was not a fun afternoon for Carmeh. Even Caeli was shaking because of the repeated claps of thunder. The ground was saturated with the rain beginning to pool. Certainly not outdoor weather. So far the only good weather we had was an hour last Sunday in Stony Plain and then another hour later in the day once we moved to the RV park in Edmonton.
All too soon it was time for me to say goodbye to Mommio. Colin took her back to her place on his own so he could have some extra quality time with her. Who knows what the future holds and when we will see her again? Meanwhile Gloria started putting dinner together while I slowly started to get things together in the RV.

Yep! That certainly was an on & off, all day, rainy wet day. Colins mum certainly holds her age – oh! to look that good at that age – let alone reach that age….Loved Colins “olive eyes” …really had a giggle – so funny…….lesalp.blogspot.com.au
So glad that Colin made you happy, I could not believe what he was doing. Mommio is simple marvelous.
Such a nice visit with Colin’s Family, always nice to get away, do it while you can.
You are so right George, who knows when we will be able to do it again.
That’s the weather I had that weekend I was in South Dakota. Glad someone else agrees that it’s not outdoor weather!
Olive eyes was hilarious!
Olive eyes was over the top. Colin says it came from one of the Batman/Joker movies.
I don’t know if I’ve told you before about giving dogs Bach’s Rescue Remedy. I always carry it with me when I travel with Cali. It DOES help!

Love the funny photo of Colin!
I do know about it but don’t have it with me. I will get some ASAP. Thanks for the info.
Colin’s mom looks FANTASTIC. I wonder what her beauty secrets are, and her long life secrets! She looks like a lot of fun to hang out with.
Funny how close we lived to where you all are at, at the moment. Enjoy your visits and such lively photos.
Have fun!
Thanks Kay. She is constantly moving and is mentally active.
Best picture of Colin I’ve ever seen! He looks really amazed!
Yes he was amazing and it certainly changed the tone of the evening.
I can’t get over how great Mommio looks! She has not aged at all in the last couple of years. Great genes. I am following your journey but think there must somehow be a time machine involved. 😉
I imagine that Colin will be around many many more years than I will. No time machine travel, just logistics. Working to make you happy with more current updates.
