100F in the shade and Carmeh update

Colin did get back down the mountain and home safely last night.  He was pretty wired and tired and needed a glass of vino to relax.  Home after 10:30PM and up early and off @ 7:30AM to the next job this morning.  This time photos for a winery way south in Oliver, B.C.

Meanwhile it was yet another hot day here in the Okanagan. It is a challenge to get the girls walked/strollered before it gets too hot.  I found a new walk with 70% shade this morning but did not have my camera.  Next time.

We did get the blood results back for Carmeh and they do not show Cushing’s Disease. That is neither good nor bad.  A thought was put out that perhaps it was a false reading and we should do the test yet again.  In a word no. We will not be subjecting her to any further tests.  We have to meet with the vet on Monday to discuss irregular liver test results and more acupuncture.

She has had an up and down week but seemed stronger yesterday.  So today I did not give her any Tramadol ( pain meds ).  She got thru the day alright but did seem to tire more easily.

Carmeh loves to look outside but we can no longer allow her to jump to the front window to look out at the street. It occurred to me the other day to open a bedroom window where while on the bed she can look down the road.

It occurred to me the other day to open a bedroom window where while on the bed she can look down the road.  You can’t see it from here but from her eye level she can see down the street.  Makes me feel good anyway.

We had a very cute moment earlier this afternoon when I took them out to do their business on the lawn. They both immediately started sniffing and tracking.  Carmeh’s hackles came up on her back.  They were very active, going here and there, serious stuff.  I thought to myself that a critter of some sort must have come thru in the last little while.  I have never seen them so agitated.  Not a minute later a squirrel came running through the yard.  Carmeh saw it and gave chase.  Good thing our yard is small, it wore her out but she was one happy dog.

The sun sets to the extreme right of the photo and this was just reflections but it does make for a nice sunset.

A much happier doggie! And a beautiful sunset sky. Glad Colin came down from the mountain unscathed.
Enjoy the days, and the vino…
    Life is good.

  2. Nice to get the girls out there for exercise and fun.
Wish we had some of that heat right now, cold wet and windy.

Well I think it’s more exercise for me. I pull Caeli along behind me on the leash and push Carmeh in the stroller. Caeli finds it too hot to walk but we do go early and she does need to walk at least once per day right now.

Bless you, Carmeh – hope you feel better! One of our cats has been sick but slowly getting better. It takes the wind out of your sail and you don’t feel like doing much till they improve. Love the view out your window – just so beautiful!!!

Good news on the Cushing. Agree with no more tests, poor little thing is probably saying enough already. I would think her Cushing tests would be pretty accurate in this day of medicene. Her liver results may show the culprit causing her discomfort and maybe treatment will be available to help with that. You are being wonderful puppy parents. Good luck for good reports Monday.
Love your view of the lake. So relaxing–when you can. Sharon

Thanks Sharon. The problem is that the drug she is taking to help her back creates liver problems. Appreciate the good luck thought.
