Nature sent rain & the surprise finally revealed
In this area at least, we have not had any thunder showers in the last 48 hours, just a very few tiny rain showers that amounted to nothing and then last night a great downpour 😆  According to the authorities the rain has helped calmed the fires and only 48 new fires have started in B.C. in the last two days.
This morning we awoke to no smoke to speak of. We are hoping for another rain shower tonight. It was a good day without have to turn on our A/C.
Meanwhile the surprise I had mentioned a week ago finally came to be.
Colin just received an early birthday gift. Unexpected but fun and why not? He doesn’t turn 65 for another 10 days so he is just gently breaking in his new car until then.

I approve of the wonderful birthday gift…why not spoil oneself….after all – hard work deserves reward
It was so amazing to get a full day of rain yesterday then part of a day of rain today – no lightening at all for us. All the trees breathed a big sigh of relief and the air is finally so nice and clean! Even my dog went out in it (he hates rain and wind normally) and was happy since all the wasps were in hiding due to the water. I am sure it lessened the threat of more fires here – and there is even a chance of a sprinkle later this week! Nice wheels!
What a lucky guy Colin is to get a Mercedes for his birthday!
We finally got a fairly good soaking this afternoon but not sure if they got it up north or not where it is really needed to quench the fires up there as well.

Nice birthday present I am sure it will be enjoyed!
Looks good on you Colin! Happy birthday!
Can’t wait to go for a spin! Love the rainbow!
That’s a nice looking Merc. I’m still passively hunting for our second vehicle. One fine day it’ll present itself. We hope.
Now THAT’S a gift quite fitting for a hard-working 65-year-old! Congrats Colin–looks like a comfy ride!
