Que pasa
I’ve meant to update you on the Frankenstein tree. When it got very very hot a while back the tree started to fade and the leaves were falling off as if it were autumn. Walter, our lawn guy, suggested that after the sun went behind the hill each night, that we water it from above as if it were raining. We did that for over two weeks and the tree has stopped shedding leaves. Hopefully it has survived this heat wave but we know more are coming. Sadly we have only had a further 20 minutes of rain in the past 4 days. Other areas have had rain which has helped the fire situation but not us. Firefighters from Australia arrived in Vancouver yesterday to help out.
Colin went up the mountain again, to the same spot he saw the bear at 18 days ago. He has to finish the shoot and he needed models for this final phase of the photo. Because he was bringing along a family complete with 2 kids and 2 dogs he asked for an escort for safety. He also had official bear spray and some sort of device made to scare off the bears. Fortunately there were no bear encounters this time around.
I can’t say that she is improving but she can walk with a funny gait and gets around on all fours more than less. The vet told us to start letting her walk for about 5 – 10 minutes per day. She loves it but is ready to get back in the stroller after a bit. Hopefully we will be able to build her up to walk the beach this winter. She is off all medications and other then being hungry all the time she seems very happy. I wish I could feed her extra but the last thing she needs is extra weight for her back to carry around.
There is much more noise on the street. The park is full of children who ride their bikes, scooters, skateboards and rent low rider bikes and go around and around all day long and they just make lots of noise. Many more cars cruising past checking out all the sites. The girls get agitated and bark at times at all the different sounds. When the A/C is on they don’t hear the sounds as much. Today we got warmer then was forecast and now at 5:30PM it is 88F inside but too late to turn the A/C on. The temps will cool quickly once the sun goes behind the hill. I love having the windows wide open but a bit of a breeze would be welcome.
Colin is doing another 14 hour day today which involves 3 different shoots as well as meetings with clients. Us girls sure miss him when he is gone but I keep telling myself that this is what allows us to be in Mexico all winter. He gets to do it all over again tomorrow.
For a few reasons my Dad’s will did not pass probate. So it has to be redone. Thank goodness I have a lawyer doing this. I’m sure I would have made even more errors but I do resent having to pay to have it redone by a professional. Of course I have to take it all to a notary/lawyer here in Kelowna to have an affidavit sworn once again and then courier it back to Edmonton.

We had a rainbow the other night and I can’t believe that my small camera caught this shot. The rainbow was more vivid to the eye.

Nice that you have been able to get your tree to come back, maybe get some rain soon.
No rain in the forecast, just more hot and dry weather.
Very neat rainbow shot! I love Mexican cheeses, they are so different than what we normally get in Canada.
We always bring back some cheese but you can only eat so much.
