It’s official
We are officially leaving on November 4th 😎 Mexico here we come. Hoping to have the electrical issue sorted out by Thursday along with 14 other items on the to do list for the RV tech. I realize that I owe you a post on the RV renovations but I need some time to do a longer post. Yesterday was my highest amount of steps on my Fitbit, over 13,000 😀 Getting things done.
I have not eaten meat for at least 35 years. One of the reasons I give people when I am asked why, is that I believe meat to be cancer causing. All those years ago I had read research on this subject with enough proof to convince me. Now the World Health Organization has made it official.

So much for the Paleo Diet eh?
I agree in the most part with those findings, but not everybody dies from cancer.
We have stopped eating processed meat a long time ago, it is rare when we do now.
Turkey Sausage and Turkey burgers that we enjoy are made by local butchers so are much less processed.
If I could convince Suzie not to eat meat I can and have done it. So what we “normally” do now is none processed meat and next to no beef at all. Sure do feel a lot better thats for sure.
So happy to hear you are “good to go.” I’m looking forward to following along on you and the pups’ adventures. 🙂
Glad to know you’re almost on your way!
Just about everything nowadays has been linked cancer. The title of the article is misleading. They are talking primarily about processed meats, and it’s been known for decades that the nitrates in them are deadly. A little red meat in moderation is absolutely fine (and is the only thing that has essentially cured my viral anemia). You do eat meat in the form of fish and seafood, which is very concerning because of mercury levels and the like, and you also eat tons of processed soy, which has been linked to all sorts of cancers and hormonal problems in women. I’m much healthier now that I’ve traded soy for white meats (chicken, pork), fish, and some red meat. So everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
Chemicals don’t belong in our bodies. Pink slime, used for processed meats like hot dogs and sandwich meats, uses ammonia to cleanse all the body parts that it is made of. They admit they cannot remove all the ammonia. Then you add nitrates and the myriad list of flavorings and other chemicals and you wonder why it makes you sick.
Good to hear you have a launch date. Can’t wait to see what renovations you did to the motorhome.
How exciting to know that you will be headed down the road. Jim and I were talking about those sites and Jim thinks you might be able to get into the pull through ones. You would have to unhook and it would take some work. Might not be what you want for a quick over night though. Safe travels.
It great that you are getting your RV back and you can start the packing process, I wish that our RV gets back from the dealer as promised as well.
On the processed and red meat issue, the details of the study is what counts. If the attached column is correct, the incremental increased risk isn’t significant and the study becomes more of “the sky is falling!” than a positive contribution to science. You may want to add this study to the others that talk about coffee and other stuff as cancer causing. I wish that I could follow all these studies and therefore not develop cancer in my lifetime but the reality is that no matter what one does we may get cancer.
