Punta Perula destroyed by Hurricane Patricia
It has just come to light that Punta Perula has been devastated by Patricia. It is a lovely area of Mexico just a bit south of Puerto Vallarta. We have been there and it breaks my heart to read about this. Click here for the story on Punta Perula and how everything from homes to schools have been destroyed.
A Go Fund Me has been set up to help the locals rebuild. The monies donated will go directly to help rebuild schools and homes. This has been set up by a couple who live there many months of the year. Their home town is just 25 minutes away from us here in Canada. Please try and donate $5.00 or $10.00 and more if you can. Every penny will make a huge difference in these peoples lives. The Go Fund Me page is here.
Colin has been unable to get me some photos to post. It seems that his Mom is keeping him on the run. He can’t believe how agile she is. They walked both floors of the mall today and are now about to head out to the Fort Gary Hotel for her birthday dinner.
Meanwhile I am burning my eyes out but starting to see a tiny light at the end of the tunnel. It has become obvious to me that my eye problem is in direct relation to stress and too much work. I was back to wearing sunglasses inside today as I am literally dealing with burning eyes.
The RV tech just came by yesterday to check on things and to see what needed to be done. As of 5:50PM local time he has not come today 😥
So much to do, so little time. If we were not working and needed to cut off our books, write cheques until April and prepay taxes etc, it would be nice to just get up in the morning and decide to leave tomorrow with none of this busyness. One day I’m sure it will happen 😕
The girls got a quick walk at noon today and we got back just before the skies opened. It is damp and cool, my body needs to feel some heat and sun on it 😎

Stress is not good for anyone.
We gave up that kind of life about 10 years ago, to live a minimal life style, have never felt better.
Once you get away all will be good.
I agree, once we get away, things will be better. However Colin will never stop working, because he loves what he does. So I am the one who is caught in the middle but when I turn 65 he will only get 2 days per week from me 🙂
We stayed at Punta Perula as well, a very nice spot with a beautiful beach. It was just about Ground Zero for Patricia! Take care of your eyes!
Thanks Croft. Eyes better today ( Thursday ) now that I am off the puter.
We have stayed at Red Snapper RV Park in Perula with Harry, the Owner, many times. The beach is beautiful and it is not far from Melaque another town that received much damage from “Patricia”. I will make a donation to the fund. So sorry to hear this and thanks for sharing this with your readers, Contessa.
I think that this was one of the best RV stops in Mexico.
Looks like the donations are made using Canadian dollars and no PayPal only credit or debit card so need to do some checking on how to donate since I am in USA.
Working on a solution, see the next post.
