Out of the wrath of the storm

We are away from the wrath of Hurricane Sandra

We left the Isla about 1:35PM.

Sad to leave and miss the show but caution is foremost.

The road out was excellent, best ever. It only took us 30 minutes. One year it took us 2.5 hours.

We met up with Bob & Marjorie at a Pemex in Villa Union.

Where to go, what road to take.

We decided to take 40D towards Durango Following Bob & Marjorie they are travelling non connected.

We stopped at an Oxxo rest area about 15 - 20 minutes out of Villa Union. Sadly we had to pay a toll to get to the rest area, 372 pesos, well worth every peso. Our minds are free and we have nothing to worry about tonight. We are safe and what will be will be.

Colin wanted to set up our dish as he had two shows he wanted to tape. Done and 85% green within 20 minutes including hauling all the rocks to secure the tripod.

Amazing sunset…..can’t send emails out other than this one but can sometimes receive an incoming. No idea what is happening out there on the coast.

  3. Better safe than sorry, and you got to go on another Rv trip as well.
Sounds like exactly what we did in Feb. 2010 at Mr. Morros with a tidal wave expected. Left the parl drove about 20 miles and relaxed in the shade, 5 hours later the manager came by and told us all was good to return.

Glad you had the opportunity to check in, and are safe. An adventure for sure! Lots of extra work but safety is paramount. Thanks for the update.

  5. Good luck. Here in Culiacan they (WeatherUnderground) are just calling for a good chance of rain showers and winds under 10 mph. Big change from a few days ago.

What satelite service are you using?

  7. Fingers and toes crossed that the storm fizzles out when it makes landfall. Glad you guys chose the safe and sound route.
