Last Tuesday, Nov. 24th we decided to head into Mazatlan to a nursery to pick up some replacement plants for my garden.
I just love taking the panga across to Mazatlan. Here we are leaving the Isla.
The shrimp boats are all out on the water, their parking spot is empty.
We found the nursery with no problem. In fact it was one of the best nurseries I have been to including Canada. We found everything I wanted plus more.
The pulmonia waited for us and we certainly filled it from the front to the back truck area. That is a papaya tree hanging out on the upper right. We even bought 3 huge bags of good soil.
We ended up getting our own panga which cost us only 60 pesos more.
It was well worth the extra $4.83CAD to get the plants safely across the channel at a slower speed and to keep the wind down.
It was a mere 80 minutes door to door. So fast and I got more than I wanted. Love this town. Meanwhile back on the Isla we had been invited to a happy hour at RV2.
Everyone from both parks attended and it seemed more like a pot luck meal than a happy hour. Lots of great snacks plus.
A great sunset from a different perspective.
Artsy moon photo.
Back to reality and yesterday. Finally the water was off our patio and so we started to set up the site.
That is Colin in the background putting up the roof to our gazebo. The girls in the foreground. Needless to say that they are most confused with the back and forth of the past few days.
We moved our plants from their protected hiding spot for the storm. This is going to be one of my favorites.
Followed by this one. They have not yet been planted but hopefully in the next few days. So much to do post hurricane. We had to dig our steps down to the beach into the sand as the level of sand had risen.
It was a new record for my yesterday. I walked 6 miles setting up it.
I ended up being so busy that I entirely missed the sunset last evening. That won’t happen again 😉 But we did get the RV moved about 3PM yesterday. We wanted things to dry out as much as possible. Still we did have some sinking as we pulled in but all was well in the end.
So we were almost done with settling back into our site as well as being done personally 😯 Best to get it over with quickly so we can get down to just being here and enjoying it.
You are making progress and it is all coming together, soo just kick back and enjoy ….
…working on it George.
Awesome job on the fitbit steps, we managed to get 10k walking the parking lot in the dark in LA!
Tomorrow San Miguel de Allende!!! Yahoo.
You guys rock….working it out i the dark. SMA, lucky you. So happy to have you in Mexico.
Are the flowers both hibiscus – they are beautiful. Especially love that pink one. Hope you get to harvest a papaya from your tree before you leave in the Spring – not sure how long they take to produce. Where was the nursery located? You look very fetching in your big hat.
Yes both hibiscus as most of my flowers are My dream was to have a hibiscus hedge but due to the wind and salt air it won’t happen. The nursery had so many choices. It is in Maz and if you want directions just email me. The hat is new and necessary re skin problems (: More on that some day.
Love that picture of you in the panga!!! All PINK! and the purse, such a cool color…. Things look as if they are getting back to ‘normal’
I loved it also. We were happy that day and the next and then the hurricane appeared. But we are happy to be here and all is well
