…..over and over and over. Looking back at the last two days it seems that all we did was eat.
It started at our place on Christmas Eve.
RV1 and a few other guests joined us for happy hour.
Everyone brought something to share and it ended up becoming dinner including dessert.
We talked, we laughed, politics were discussed. The evening went on and on. In fact a few people left the happy hour to go into town for a concert and we were still at it when they returned and rejoined us.
We even witnessed the rising of the Christmas full moon.
Debbie and Russ hosted a full breakfast for RV1. They did it all themselves.
Every bite was gourmet from the mimosas to the egg casserole, the pancakes, bacon, hash browns and fruit salad. It wasn’t long before the conversation quietened as everyone was satiated.
Except these boys, they had to share the last pancake. Thank you again Debbie and Russ.
Hard to believe that we could possibly eat another bite but soon it was time for Christmas dinner. Six went into Mazatlan to Twisted Mamas for the traditional turkey dinner while the rest of us came back to Chez Contessa yet again.
First we enjoyed drinks while watching the Christmas sunset.
We sat while Chris said a few words and somehow we were all ready to eat yet again. From right to left, Chris, Juan, Liebor, Marketa, Rae, Mike and myself. You all know who the photographer was 🙂
Our second feast of the day and what a menu it was. We has a tomato salad, a beet salad, a caesar salad, a potato/green bean casserole, scalloped potatoes made in a crockpot, another bean casserole laden with cheese, an enchilada casserole and ham. We later indulged in a delicious guava pie as we sat by the firepit.
And so ended Christmas 2015 here on the Isla.
So glad that a good time and good food was had by all!
Ruth
A wonderful time spent together. You guys know how to have a good time.
Oh!!! What fun!!! And look at all of you sitting around all that FOOD in your shorts and short sleeves!! Don’t think it ever got above freezing yesterday and today…. Hope you had (and it certainly looks like you did) a Merry Christmas!!
That looks like a lot of fun. A fantastic set up and a lot of good friends. Good to see everything was back to normal after the storms you had.
Wow, thats a lot of celebrating, looks like y’all had a great time.
Keep enjoying.
Very good eats! The enchilada casserole was the best! Too much food and now back to long walks and hikes.
We need to have some pancakes with that “special” maple syrup Santa brought! 🙂
It’s now 3 am and I’ve spent the last 4+ hours reading your fascinating blog. The always excellent photos plus your very descriptive commentary make reading your blog a real delight – like a good book that I just couldn’t put down. Your stories and photos mean all the more to me as they so well recall my memorable trip to the Isla – was it last winter? I wish you both a great new Year and lots of continued happy times in MZT!
It all looks wonderful. The picture of you and Colin at the top of this post, and the one on yesterday’s post of you two on the beach are the very best I think I’ve ever seen of you two, and that’s saying a lot. They both pretty much sum it up, don’t they? : )
Thank you for sharing the joy. Wishing you both and the girls a wonderful, healthy, abundant New Year.
P.S. And Chris has me wondering what the “special” is in the “special” maple syrup. : )
