Que pasa

We are still getting bits of this and that done.  This seems to be the time of year that we actually have time to get things done……before Colin starts working full out.  He actually has a large job scheduled because of the sunny skies forecast for this weekend and a few others for next week.

NOt great lighting but the first goose family wah ave seen this year.

Not great lighting but the first goose family we have seen this year.  Colin spotted not one but two beavers very early the other morning, one behind the other.

Colin took our tow car in for servicing as he was concerned about a noise he heard while  driving at highway speeds.  Turns out that one of the front wheels needed a new wheel bearing.  We tow the car approximately 5660 miles each year but actually only drive it less than 1000 miles.  Sadly the part they used was bad and so on hearing the sound again he took the HHR back and they replaced the part yet again.  All of this was just under $500.00 and we were given a free rental car for the 3 days the car was in the shop.

Once the HHR was in good shape we were ready to put it into storage.  First we had to drive to the insurance office and change my BMW storage insurance to full insurance for the next six months.  Back home we switched from the HHR to the BMW and headed back again to the insurance company in the Z3.  This time we were switching the insurance from the HHR to the Mercedes.  We just switched the plates from vehicle to vehicle, much cheaper.  We drive back home in the Z3 where Colin switched the plates and then we put the HHR in storage.  Phew!  Lots of back and forth but things are now as they should be.

Spring is early this year.  Last year we were two weeks ahead in the orchards and this year they say we are three weeks ahead.

I have never seen the apple trees in bloom this early.

Everything is so very green.

Everything is so very green.  That shading of yellow you see are the flowers that come late May.  Right now the hills are alive with yellow.

The weather is a mixed bag. One day we are breaking heat records and the next we are having rain showers.

Sadly there have already been forest fires further North. We so hope that things will not get out of hand this year.

It’s good to see the jet skis did not scare off the geese and beaver. I think it is green all over from the different photos I see on different blogs. That’s typical here in the spring but I can’t remember where my yard looked as good as it does this year. I love the location you have there.

  2. We are getting the same kind of weather, beautiful one day rain the next. We had far more snow on our mountains this year than last so hopefully things won’t get as dry.
