One more Que Pasa
We took Caeli to the Vet this AM as requested to check her left ear re the wax build up. This had been discovered while she was getting her teeth cleaned last week. Of course she was fine as was her digestive issue of the last few days. Next visit is Thursday for another urinalysis re her bladder infection. I have no idea what the bill is for the last two weeks and they aren’t telling me 🙄 I really don’t want to know 🙁
We have been home one month today and we are amazed at how much we had managed to get done. Best of all is the freedom for me of no longer having to wear those dreaded compression stockings. I have become a bit of a sloth this past month and I long to get walking again. Oh how I miss the Isla beach.
We finally were able to pick up our two new patio umbrellas from JYSK. They had been on back order for 3 weeks. Best part was that it was the 25th anniversary of the store or something and we did not have to pay tax 😛 So we saved $21.43 PLUS they gave Colin a free ladies watch as well as a white robe. Such a deal.
Sadly things are not going well in Fort McMurray. Earlier today it was reported that the air quality in the town was very bad. Usually is it rated from 1 to 10 with 10 being the worst, today it was 38 😯 Those working in the town to help out have been advised to wear special breathing apparatus. Meanwhile very recently this evening those working in the oil field camps north of the town have just been ordered to evacuate due to the fire turning back toward them. All we can do is pray for them all.

Maybe that rain will travel up north to help ou Fort McMurray.
Looks like it didn’t and they are even worse off now. Very sad situation up there. I fear that some things are changed forever.
I love that photo of the duck landing. It looks like a lot of color in your area but I can’t remember reading if you’ve had a lot of rain this spring. As far as birds flying into windows … very rarely but I will have one fly full speed into the carport hitting the large window I have that looks out over the highway and fields. It’s a good 20′ inside the carport. Never a good thing to see. I hope Caeli gets a clean bill of health on her next test.
We do have a lot of green around which is great until we hit those high temps in the summer. Lots of lakes also. We have nursed some birds back form hitting the windows but not these, sadly.
I hate it when our birds do that. We had a beautiful pair of woodpeckers return this year (or maybe they never left) and one of them flew into the window and killed him/herself. The other one is still hanging around and I feel sad every time I see it.
Oh Croft, that made me very sad. The one mate is likely in mourning. I am convinced that they have feelings.
Lovely pictures. Isn’t spring beautiful! Glad to hear Caeli is doing better. My poor cousins who work in Ft Mac had a long day yesterday. They were flown in to work from Edmonton which meant they drove from Wandering River to Edmonton only to be evacuated a few hours later. They never slept for 26 hours. Good news is that their houses are still standing as opposed to one of our friends who lost theirs. Take care.
How very sad for your friends who lost their home. I think the reality of the devastation of this still out of control fire is only starting to be realized. So many new negative developments in the last 24 hours. I feel for those all those who are homeless at this time. It might be another month before folks are allowed to return home.
